Like many dog owners, my puppies are like my children. I take such good care of my little girls, make sure they get the right food and exercise and time to play outside. I recently took a new job and needed help with them. I felt afraid to let someone else walk my dogs, let alone go inside my house when I was gone so I did a lot of research prior. Then I read the reviews about Dan Reitman of Dan's Dog Walking and Pet Sitting.
On his website, he posts a lot of feel good videos with pets with links to his personal page at www.danielreitman.com. He also claims to have a nonprofit, which after calling the department of charities is non existent called Hope for Hope www.hopeforhope.org. In his photos he looks like a nice man, a world traveler and portrays himself as a spritual person, and caring.
HE IS NONE OF THESE THINGS.
I, like many people fell for this presentation. When I went to his office, I was greeted by some kids who look like they work in a lower income McDonald's, but I figured, they're probably just the desk clerks.
What happened next, I hope NO ONE will ever have to experience again from this horrible company.
I left my information and was specific to when Dan's Dog Walking and Pet Sitting www.danspetcare.com could enter my home to care of Mitzy and Jezebel. I thought it was strange when they asked me if I'm gone at night ever, but didn' think about it. Fast forward to the day they arrive and it's this fat, big bearded oaf with a pony tail who shows up on my video monitor and he's SMOKING POT in my house! Not a vape... but a bong. Who smokes bongs?! I call the shop again to ask if that is their employee as he was rummaging through my clothes dressers while the dogs were downstairs. I thought I was getting robbed! And my worst nightmare appeared when the call went through... The person who picked up the phone was not the girl at the office it was Dan Reitman, the owner himself. But the most terrifying part of the story was the fact that the fat bearded man in the video monitor picks up his cell phone as I'm talking to Dan Reitman and IT IS HIM!!!
I ask him if they had picked up my puppies because it was already after hours and I requested the pickup at 10:30 AM. He lies and says yes. This was supposed to be 4 days into the pet sitting!!!! I'm freaking out right now and thinking to myself... This guy not only didn't pick them up, but left them in their crates for the week, and then visits my house after dark and goes through my personal things. I was so scared my hands were shaking as I watched the video monitor. I called the police immediately and he was apprehended. Unfortunately, because I signed a document that allowed his company to access my home, he was legally allowed to be there. He told the poiice he had just dropped my girls back home and unfortunately I did not have the ability to record what I saw on the monitor.
I am SO scared for anyone especially women who hire this man. He is a creep and probably a pedophile. When I went home I had garments missing and I feel horribly violated.
Do not trust this service!!!!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! And DO NOT trust your home or your life with this man. Daniel Reitman is a creep and should be behind bars.
