First of all, their website was created on August 25, 2018 (per web.machine.org). What they claim on their website: "The defense team has effectively dismissed many serious and violent felony cases and our post-conviction attorneys have won hundreds of appeals from misdemeanor probation modification to death penalty appeals."

Appellate cases take years to file and get a decision. This "league" existed for two months, it is impossible for them to win hundreds of appeals.

Second, they claim: "All the attorneys and staff are experienced, compassionate problem solvers with many years of combined experience. Many on the talented team are former D.A. prosecutors and have experience with trial strategies and jury selection."

Their website lists attorneys for each state. I ran several of them on their appropriate state bar license. Here are the results: Attorney who specializes in PERSONAL INJURY. Another attorney who got his license in May 2018 and does not have a practice. One attorney only specializes in INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. None of these attorneys have their website or any indication they work for a law firm, or have their own law firm. None of them had any criminal appeal experience.

I asked their representative if they have a business license, their reponse was they do not want to do a business with me.

Please be aware, as they pose to be a law firm, collect your confidential information and just want to get your money. Please check the attorneys listed, better CALL these attorneys and verify they do business with this criminal defense league. Once you pay them, there is no guarantee you will get the service you deserve or your money back.

Get a fee agreement

Never send money for legal services to a non-attorney. That includes to fundraising accounts and clients. Non-attorneys are not allowed to negotiate price or agree to a price for their lawyer boss. An attorney must send a fee agreement to the prospective client for cases costing a significant amount of money and, if the fee is a retainer and not a flat fee, the attorney/firm must keep the money in a trust account until the money is earned or spent on the case. If you want to help another person afford an attorney, send money to the person's attorney, not to the client themselves or to a third party, such as a fundraiser (but notify the person that you sent the money to the attorney.) Attorneys are required to notify clients when a third part pays their attorney and to keep any disputed fees in a trust until the dispute is resolved. Because the State Supreme Court governs attorneys in their state, an attorney cannot easily "take off" with your money or spend it privately without incurring severe obstacles or consequences.

SCAMMERS

This company scammed me and my fiancé out of $2500. States they could assist my husband with filing a post conviction relief order and failed to do any work or allocate an attorney. When they did the attorney claimed she had never been paid for any precious work completed for them. Then when we completed a Refund Request they have failed to pick up any of our calls or return any of our emails. The most recent email sent to Candace Wells in the accounting department returned with a failure notice: [email protected]. They are complete scammers. They are not attorneys they simply sub-contract out to attorneys but don’t even pay them correctly. The other attorney they claimed to be working on our case was a personal injury attorney and was not familiar with criminal cases. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. SCAMMERS ALERT

This Company took 1,000.00 for legal services and they never did anything. They sent me info on how to send money for retainer. Once money was sent they did no services at all. I requested a refund and they sent me a form to fill out.

I sent the form back via email and fed ex and called they never returned calls and when I called from my number they forwarded it to voicemail. This is definitly a scam!!!

Scam

This company is a scam plain and simple. We were scammed out of thousands of dollars, thankfully our bank returned the funds. Do not waste your time, money, or effort. Find an attorney in your area.

We have reported this company to the FTC, FBI, Attorney General, among others.

Great Job

I want to give a great rating to these guys and girls at criminal defense league. Not only did they help me sort out a bogus charge in another state where I was vacationing but they didn't rake me over the coals for fees. The fee was VERY reasonable and they got it handled quick. I found the staff to be very helpful and professional. My attorney knew his stuff and the judge seemed to really respect him. Thanks for all your help CDL.
