Creative Engineers Reviews

  • Mar 17, 2019

Long story short; I purchased a NEW 12 Volt DC Propane pump from one of these entities (who was on Alibaba) for $200 USD and $120 USD shipping.

They did not ship me a NEW pump but a WELL USED, DEFECTIVE, INOPERABLE pump. The end result is I am stuck with this useless broken used pump and I am out $220 USD. And they are OK with that.

The Details:

As the transaction proceeded, the other entities emerged so in the end I did not know who I was dealing with, so they are all named here. (They are all the same in reality, I figure). They can sort themselves out if they wish. The following details of the events are contained in emails and pictures of such sent to Creative Engineers, Gaurang Shah, Anu Patel (and the rest through Alibaba and other emails supplied to me by them). This is the email exchange that went on.

ME TO HIM (THEM):

Over the period of a month I sent several requests for assistance from them as the pump did not work from day one.

No responses at all were given by them. I paid to have a technician open the pump to see if he could see the problem (with no instructions, diagrams, information at all from them). Here is what we found when we opened it up:

EMAIL ME TO HIM (THEM):

We have had a chance to view and test your pump that you sent.

The pump we received is a USED pump and full of defects.

1. Pic 1 and 2 clearly show both sides of both diaphragms, and they are clearly used, and defective

2. Pic A and B shows both plastic pieces that the diaphragms mount to and both of them are cracked, and possibly due to over tightening at your end

3. Pic C shows the washer on top of the diaphragm that is deformed, as further evidence of overtightening

4. Pic 6 and 7 shows the plug on one side of the case that is machined faulty which deformed the O-Ring, and was not even able to thread in straight. The pump leaked at this point as well as at both diaphragms.

This pump was misrepresented as new and was full of faults so as to render it inoperable.

I am asking for a full refund of my original purchase price as well as shipping and to please advise what you want me to do with this pump. To me, it is just garbage, and I will advise to just discard it.

Thanking you in advance.

HERE IS HIS (THEIR) REPLY:

So…. It is normal for a new pump to be rusty inside, and normal for a new pump to need “all the required spares” to be replaced to fix it so it will work?? It was all rusty inside but I didn’t even mention that and yet they justified it. Happened before?? I think so.

HERE IS MY REPLY:

That won’t work for me. I can’t spend any more time or money on a pump in this condition. I have to pay to get it repaired as I am not mechanically inclined. This pump was misrepresented and should not have to be fixed if it was “new”. How can we negotiate a refund of my payment including shipping?

I will make an offer to you to refund my $200 USD via PayPal that I paid for this defective, misrepresented pump. I will pay the original shipping and do not need that refunded, should you accept this offer. Should you want to have the pump shipped back you will have to pay the $120 shipping via PayPal to do so otherwise I will discard it as garbage (which is my recommendation as it is of no value at all). Please respond to this offer as soon as you can.

Thanking you in advance.

Mike A

So I would have to pay to ship it back anyway, so I offered to eat the shipping I originally paid. Not good enough for them.

HERE IS HIS (THEIR) REPLY:

Dear sir,

firstly of all its simple to get repaired you can even replace it yourself sir. so, we can send you spare required free of cost. other option is that we can refund you 100USD.

Thanks

anu

It is normal to offer to send free spares free of cost for a “NEW” pump?? Normal to need spares at all?? Normal to offer $100 refund on a new working pump??

THE FINAL OUTCOME THUS FAR (At time of posting):

So I took the $100 USD refund as offered (after waiting and asking several times for it for 18 days). Better than nothing I figure. Not much choice really. The pump is not worth fixing, I can’t rebuild the pump myself and I won’t put any more money into it. If I went a PayPal dispute path then I would have to ship it back and that would cost close to $200 USD (more to ship back than I paid to get it??) And then there is the chance of further dispute about the return, from people who have previously lied and misrepresented.

Now I am in possession of an overused, worn out, broken, useless pump (that was represented as “NEW”) and am out $220 USD (plus repairman costs at this end) from this whole thing, plus time energy and other money at my end.
