Cowgirl Cadillacs Reviews

  • Mar 11, 2022

I recently went to the Cowgirl Cadillac horse auction with hopes of buying a horse. When I got there and watched the horses ride in person, it was a big disappointment, most of them were nowhere near what they were advertised to be. This was disheartening enough, but as the weekend went on, the other things I saw really opened my eyes to how deceptive and dirty horse auctions and traders can be.

It was obvious that one of the main attractions there a buckskin horse brought by Sarah and Mozaun Mckibben was sold long before the sale ever happened. The Cowgirl Magazine writer and photographer that were there to write a story actually took the pictures they used for their story the day before the sale. They clearly were involved in the big deception that was used to attract buyers and make the sale seem bigger than it was.

When the bidding started on the horse it started at $200,000 a nearly unprecedented number in and of itself, then in a matter of about 30 seconds it jumped all the way to $500,000 setting a supposed record. The other bidder was obviously a friend of the Mckibbens because they were laughing and drinking together all day long. After watching, I don’t believe that any of the top selling horses actually sold for what they said, I think it’s one big scam just to lure people in to buy the lesser expensive horses and to be able to promote the auctions and act big fueling their egos while they sit back and laugh knowing they're scamming everyone.

After my experience at this auction I decided to do some more research. Most of the sellers at this sale actually just move from sale to sale. It was mostly the same sellers I saw going to Premier Horse Auctions that has several auctions around the country, Bots Sots Remount, Diamonds in the Desert in Las Vegas, Ride The Wave in Ocala, and Best Of Texas in Fort Worth. They also go to Chad and Paje Turner’s sale the League of Legends in Montana.

It’s almost like a traveling carnival with a group of gypsies moving from place to place and we all know how those carnival workers are always trying to trick and con the people attending. So if you’re looking at buying a horse at one of these auctions, go there in person at the very least so you can see for yourself, NEVER bid online or on the phone and don’t believe or trust what they’re saying.
