They will give you a price on a home and tell you you are buying as is unless you want to pay thousands extra to the owners. Then the managers will tell you that you can pay them $500 and they will fix everything that is wrong and will have it done within 3 days. They say "why pay thousands to the owners when we will do it for $500?".
This is exactly what happened with us. We gave them $1386 on December 28, 2017. We paid as is knowing the managers were going to help with fixing the issues. They said the home was winterized so the plumbing would be ok. We get the gas turned on only to have the gas company say the water heater is frozen and no good. They lied- it was not winterized (at least correctly) The gas company also said the furnace was no good. We talked with one of the managers and he said he would get it taken care of. More than a week passed and nothing had been done. We asked for a refund- only to be told no because we bought as is. I did not tell the owners what the managers had arranged with us. We gave the manager $200 of the $500 to fix the home with the remaining due at the end of the month. The manager said he would have it all done within 3 days. Another week has passed and NOTHING has been done- other than removing the bad water heater. Nothing more. We have called several times with no answer. We have texted a few times and no answer. Hey, at least they got our money right? So we threw away $1576 to these "people" for something we will not have.
