Cory Dewberry was training my male German Shepherd with my daughter at his store fRony in Columbus. He told me that Demo was doing great, but that with his schedule, my daughters, and the winter weather, he wasn't getting much training in. He said that Demo appeared to be Gun shy and wanted to take him to his place for more frequent training. Cory kept in touch with me pretty regularly for the first few weeks. He was constantly telling me how nice he was and how he had several LE people that were interested in him. Cory told me that we needed to get his hips xrayed before this one department would conaider him. I told Cory over and over that I didn't want to sell him because I wanted to use him as my daughters first IPO dog. Hence why Demo was at his home facility working on this "gun shyness ". As the weeks went on, the communication became less and less. Until finally Cory sent me a picture of him laying in a hospital bed with a "back injury". I informed Cory that I would have my daughter come pick up my dog until he can get back on his feet. However, Cory insisted that he had other people at his place caring for and training the dogs for him. Shortly after that call, I heard through friends that Cory's place was raided by police and animal control. In a panic, I tried to call him and text him. A female called my saying that Cory was "not available ", that Cory had sold my dog to "someone up north" and he would be getting in touch with me in a day or two. To date, I have not heard one word from this lying, cheating thief. I have no clue where my dog is (I still have his AKC papers). I've been in touch with the detective, and am being told that until we find Demo, there isn't anything I can do at this point.
