Corvette World Dallas Reviews
This is the story of someone (me) who should have been a little less trusting
of a used car dealer, even a large one that only sold used Corvettes.
In Oct. of last year I went on line and found my dream car at Corvewtte World
Dallas: a 2003 50th anniversary Corvette convertible...and almost
unbelievably, it only had 7,900 miles on it. I immediatly called Corvette
World and said the following day I would wire the $1000 deposit that they
required so that they would hold it for me, and that I'd be down
within a week or so with the rest of the money.
When I picked up the car I was very favorably impressed as it was in
pristine condition. I thought about taking it to a mechanic to be checked
out, but then thought, what could have gone wrong in 7,900 miles? Well, it
only took about 10 miles of driving to find out what could go wrong and that
was that it could have a ride about as soft as that of a Flexible Flyer sled.
However, never having driven a Corvette before, I thought perhaps that
was the way it was supposed to ride.
It was such a rough ride, though, that when I returned home I took it to a
Chevy dealer who examined it and told me that all 4 struts were shot, but
that for only $4800 he could fix them. He said that what most likely
happened was that the car sat, undriven, for a long time, the seals
dried out and the liquid drained out of each of the struts.
Well, my bad for not having had it checked out before making the final pay-
ment, but I thought I'd try to find out what the salesman knew about
the problem before selling it to me, so I e-mailed him and asked if his
company had not checked out the car, or if they had simply "forgotten"
to mention the problem to me. To my disappointment, but not surprise,
I never heard back from him.
My lesson has been learned, and I would just say to anyone thinking of
making a purchase from Corvette World Dallas or Corvette World Houston
that you understand that they take the business theory of Caveat Emptor
very seriously, and no matter how new the Corvette is that you are
considering purchasing, you have it checked out by an independent
mechanic.
