I feel like my I'm not being given proper information about my grades and that I was failed in classes & unfairly graded. I was told by my acting principal/ director that I was given a failing grade in my ethics class because I got into a heated exchange of words with another student during a CPR training class. These 2 things have nothing to do with one another. This ultimately changes my GPA and hinders me from graduating on time. Also now I'm being forced to redo classes when I was never verbally told i was in danger of failing any classes by my professors leaving me unaware prior to receiving my grades.
This is morally and ethically wrong and I would like to file this complaint after my attempts to have the grades changed were not listened to. I was also told to not contact any of my professors about the matter and that it would be handled after our winter break which was a lie. Nothing was investigated or changed. No one told me my actual grades for the work that I actually completed and now I'm being forced to retake classes I already completed which means I need to take out more financial aid loans as well.
The way that the director handled this situation was very one sided. I wasn't given a fair outlook or investigation and was given false information about written complaints that never occurred. I was never given a copy or showed any evidence of these allegations but was punished with a failing grade for the semester. I was also warned that if i filed this complaint for an investigation that I would be kicked out of the school indefinitely with no remorse for my work or time there.
This entire incident is effecting me from moving forward with school and career and messing up potential job opportunities as well. On top of having a learning disability and being bullied because of it by the same student in question. My teachers and director did not punish any of the other students involved. Forcing me to now take dat and evening classes as well as an extra term of school. I would like to continue my education without this issue making it worst.
I would also just like to know my actual grades prior to the alleged issue and see a detail of how I was graded. This is a major issue and will further help me to decide if I want to continue my education with this institute considering the fact that some of the staff clearly have issues with my persistent request for information on resolving this. I even took the initiative of practicing and redoing all of my work for the semester in question. All of which was undercooked and discredited by my director.
Went on a little tour at the Cortiva Institute the woman was very persistent I told her I had to go home and speak to my boyfriend about it. Well my boyfriend gotten sick and I could not go back to the school but the woman kept on calling me while he was in the hospital for 7 days they pushed me into starting the school. Filled out the applications for financial aid and I was accepted for both great all I needed was to get my high school diploma and show them I was waiting on that. Attended the school for 3 days I got sick I have Crohn's disease so from the cutting of my nails and filing my nails down to what they say file them down till they bleed I got a blood infection. I was fighting fevers for 3 weeks. I withdrew from the school before the withdrawal date they never got my financial aid because I called them and told them I no longer attended their. Now this morning I get a phone call from a collection agency telling me that the Cortiva Institute wants the full amount of the tuition attended for 3 days there's no way they're going to get $12,000 from me for 3 days. This is a scam the teachers are rude the administration is unprofessional. Never received a notice from the so-called collection agency just a phone call and never received anything from the school. I advise people not to attend the school go to a more professional school who actually explain things to you.
