I received a rebate Visa card from Corsair, drawn on MetaBank. I misplaced the card shortly after receiving it, and by the time I found it, the card expiration date was still good, but the funds were gone, because "Fees Apply". So, contrary to the statement on the front of the card, "Funds Do Not Expire", THAT is a falsehood. The funds DO expire because the fees use up the balance by the expiration date on the card. So Corsair makes money twice, 1) on the original purchase, and 2) when they don't have to honor the rebate. A win-win situation for them, a shaft-shaft situation for the customer. I even attempted to get this card reissued, or reloaded, by talking to someone at Corsair. It was denied because the yo-yo that I spoke to said that his computer wouldn't allow him to do it. Well, my pocketbook isn't going to allow me to spend any more money on ANY of their products either! I NEVER will buy another Corsair product. EVER! PERIOD!
When I attempted to use "leverage" by telling them I was going to find a place and post a NEGATIVE feedback report about this incident, they just blew me off, like I was making an idle threat. They'll NEVER see another penny of my money. I assured them that I would create enough hate and discontent to cost them twenty times the $10 that was on the card. Still didn't phase them.
This SSD came with a 2 year warranty. The first time it failed was only about a week after I bought the drive. The repl.acement that was sent to me lasted about a year.
Corsair requested and received a copy of my original receipt when i requested the first RMA. They then deleted it along with most of the info I provided and correspondence in that ticket and are demanding I resend the receipt to them.
This iis a tactic used by companies to allow them to refuse to honor their warranties. Since I already sent the first drive back to them there is no reason for me to keep the original receipt. They should have been responsible for keeping the copy i sent them with the RMA request ticket.
Here is the transcript from the RMA request they are trying to deny;
Back on May 23 2015 I purchsed a Power Supply from Corsair partly because they offered a rebate of $20.00 which I was to receive with 10-12 weeks.
They aknowledged receipt of my rebate application and said it was complete and approved.
When I enquired after 12 weeks, I received the follwing message:-
Thank you for contacting the Corsair Rebate Department. I would have to ask to allow an additional 12 weeks to receive your $20.00 check in the mail. I can assure you that you will be receiving the rebate and I do apologize for the long wait.
Was this only an advertizing gimmik? I feel that there will be another delay and the rebate will never come.
