Corporate Event Solutions sells you on the idea of making a decent profit on weeks you sell them through RCI. The requests they send you are less than 30 days from when you receive them, or during high reservation days because of season. Every single request they sent me was unable to be booked due to the time of year, and then their "client" refused the alternatives, stating that they were able to make the same reservation through another route. Then I wait 30 days to get another offer.
They guarantee that you will sell your weeks within 90-120 days, with 180 days being the maximum amount of time. I am currently at 173 days and have yet to have one successful booking. They act surprised when you inform them that they are in breech of contract and that a refund is required. I was offered "a little money in my pocket" back from my initial deposit to calm me down when I made the complaint to accounting.
I gave them 30 days to get me an offer. I was told I would be a priority. I waited 23 days and had to call them AGAIN to be told the same thing AGAIN "You will get an offer next week." Once I pointed out to them what the current situation was, then they said yes, they were aware of the situation. I was asked again to wait an additional 7 days to get the offer and to try to make the reservation. Then we would "discuss" a refund."
Upon reading further complaints, I have found that this is a scam. That I cannot sell my weeks and that I am not the only one who has had this happen to them.
I asked Chris how he got my name and the RCI information and if this would be guaranteed paid back. He said the information was received from RCI and if the unit was rented I would get my money.
I asked him if the weeks were not rented then what? He did not say directly I would not get any money but I became suspicious then.
I almost fell for it up to the point of giving them my credit card information and submitting it to my credit card. For some reason I submitted it and verified it and then my credit card denied it. He told me to call my credit card company to find out why it was denied and he would call me back.
My intuition told me not to do this. So I searched on line and found the complaints here all with the same story. I called RCI and I don't have bonus weeks and they don't give out their owners information!
When I told Chris I changed my mind he said derogatory words "you don't have any money in your credit cards, that is why you cant get it authorized. You mean to tell me after working with you for a week on this you are going to back out now? I know karma will take care of you. But there are many people who use our services and I will just hang up and contact the other person who will benefit from this instead." Before I declined this he gave me a "customer service number. "
I decided to contact the number to report my conversation and when I called it, his name was one of the customer service agents extentions! That is hilarious! I'd like to hear from all those people who have gotten money as they promised.
This company uses Online Business Bureau for credibility and the Better Business Bureau does not recognize the Online Business Bureau as credible. I called another customer service agent and asked about this and was told it was because their company didn't want to pay the BBB fees.
I have documents saved on my computer from this attempted scam. The agreement was a docusign from Goldmember.com. I did alert Goldmember.com of this scam attempt using their name.
I had cancelled my subscription by e-mail because I would have had to make the reservation with my resort on my own. Several days later I got a call from a salesman who assured me Corporate Event Solutions had reservations and all I would have to do is have a 3-way conversation with CES and customer to confirm the rental amount. However, when I received a 30-day e-mail from CES, it said I would have to contact the resort for availability.
The saleman had told me that beginning in January there would be a big demand for my timeshare. However, that would not do me any good since when I checked my account with RCI, there was nothing available until March. aAlso the rental amounts on the RCI website were coniderably less than I had been told by CES I would get.
I don't know why corporations would book through CES. I don't think I would ever get enough movey from CES to pay for my subscription. I e-mailed CES again to cancel my subscription and request a full refund, but we will see what happens. I really suspect them of grossly misleading people, if not outright fraud. I would not advise anyone to believe their story.
Complete Scam. Yes I fell for their pitch and paid $1900 dollars to sell my Getaway weeks Like many others have posted. Nothing has been done, after almost a year. They provided me with some offers where there is no availability. I complained to them and they said they have been working diligently since last February and nothing has happened. I was told that it would be easy to sell my Getaway weeks in 60 to 90 days I asked for a refund, and of course they said they would work harder to sell my available weeks, but once again the offers they send out are never available. Got tired of getting my hopes hope. This is a well organized SCAM!!!
Another Timeshare Scam! Corporate Event Solutions.
Received a phone call from Corporate Event Solutions (CES) sales representative on 20 Dec 2018. Sales rep Victor Manuel said he could rent out my bonus/getaway weeks with Interval International (II) for me at a minimal cost. CES sells you on the idea of making a decent profit on weeks you sell them through Interval or RCI. I was told by Victor that my 3 bonus/getaway weeks would be rented out within 180 days guaranteed. After all, they are in Florida and have tons of corporate events coming though and these people need places to stay. Unfortunately, I believed him and I signed up, spending almost $1100.
After going living through the story below I called Interval International to see if they work with CES and they said that it illegal for a secondary vendor to rent my getaway weeks. Then I checked with RCI exchanged and they have Corporate Event Solutions listed on their web page as a “scam”. These people are predators taking advantage of hard working people. I am hopeful that I can get a refund and CES gets shut down.
Here's what happened: The rental requests CES has been sending me are less than 45 days from when you receive them, which make it nearly impossible to match their “clients” request. Every request they sent me was unable to be booked, all but for one, I found a suitable resort within 1-3 miles of their requested resort. However, the CES "client" refused the alternatives each time.
After 9 months with CES, I have received about 5 offers to rent my property, none of which worked out. I complained about not renting my property within the first 180 days and Niki at CES said I would be put on preferred status so I could get my timeshare rented ASAP. The last request on I received this month (Aug) was perfect. The resort was available but then CES said their “client” declined the rental because they needed to change their dates. I might have believed this if this wasn’t a recurring complaint regarding CES’s practices. Somehow, all leads turn to dust with CES and yet again, I was left with nothing.
After calling again, a new rep at CES, Conner said he would put me on preferred status so I could get a rental. I said Niki already did that months ago so I knew they were giving me the runaround. I let him know I was frustrated and wanted my money refunded. I stated that CES promised me I would have a rental within 180 days and they failed to meet that promise. Conner said CES could not refund my money because I only had 10 days to ask for a refund. Now that is just ridiculous. Please don't get caught up in this.
