I hired Corporate Color Printing to accomplish a simple, uncomplicated job that required them to do these simple tasks.) Print a straight forward three page letter, a TOC, and an order form and a return envelope, and mail the packaage to 2.000 small businesses anywhere in the U.S. using U.S. government standards for a small business, i.e., employing less than 500 people but more than 4.
**Almost 400 of the packages were returned by the PO as undeliverable and with no forwarding address. The fact is that they did not exist.
**A significant number were NOT addresses of small businesses. They seemed to be grade schools and churches. They were definitely not according to the specifications of the job.
**Every salutation was some garbled form of the mailing address. The most unprofessional thing I think I have ever seen!!
**And finally, half of the packages DID NOT contain order reply envelopes.
When I relayed these problems to the owner, he turned his back on me, looked at the wall, and said "Tough Luck"!!
And the price of my bad luck was $4,968.28!! Don't let that be the price of your bad luck.
