Today 11/21/2016 I was a new patient at Cornerstar Dental Group and Orthodontics and told them I just wanted a cleaning. The doctor sat down with me and before looking into my mouth said they want to discuss treating my gum disease. I said "Gum disease? You haven't even looked in my mouth". She insisted I had gum disease that needed to be treated. I told her I was not interested and just wanted the cleaning. I was at my old denstists office about 7 months ago and I remember asking about my gums and they said they are fine. The doctor insisted that they still want to take measurements of how bad my gum disease was even though I denied treatment. The doctor did a very painful measurement of my gums. Painfull not because I have problems but painful because she purposely made it hurt and used a need sharp instrument. I assume this was suppose to make me think, yeah I guess I do need gum disease treatement. I floss twice a day and brush with a Sonicare brush twice a day. The dental hygenist there even said she could tell I keep good care of my teeth. Also right away the doctor looked at the xrays of one side of my mouth and said at least 3 crowns need to be replaced. The doctor showed no interest in my treatment after denying the gum disease treatment. These people need to be put out of business. They are NOT ethical.
