Corinthian Colleges, Inc. Reviews

  • Oct 6, 2016

I never thought i would get another chance to further my education, due to being a divorced mother of two wonderful young men, now. Then i learned about Everest through a coworker on my 8-5 job. I was kind of hestitant about going to school online, but i only had weekends to weigh against my options. My boys are athlethes, and i follow them everywhere. So i made the call that ripped me off, I called Everest. One call and thats all, and they will convience you until you enroll. They called me on my job, as soon as i would get off from work, and cell phone repeatedly. I had around 89 to 95 college hours completed with no degree. They convienced me that the majority of my credits would transfer, and that was the first lie. They said that i would be able to complete my degree faster and earn a better or higher rate of pay on my prior job. And, believe it or not, they was a nonprofit organization. I know, i should have looked them up, but they worked swiftly and got me enrolled. I could go on and on about the six week mini term they enrolled me in, which took all of my financial aid, plus two loans, and i failed them. I dont even think a couple of my so called professors were legal. I was blocked out of my online courses for asking my professor to stop riding me, because my back is not bent. He was marking all over my reports in error, of which i had asked several times what ami doing wrong. One night, he responded to my student email. in a sentence that went something like " wi snt not i am talin to yu..... it was crazy. The next morning, as soon as my break came, i called and reported him to my advisor, i still remember her name, Joanna Cassidy.

The only person who really tried to help me after i saved his message and sent it to her. she then sent it to the dean. All of a sudden, well three to four days later, counting the weekend, i was asked to appeal my suspension. I appealed, in eight different formats, i had a story to tell about my experience with my instructor, Mr O'Bryant and the university as a whole. In the middle of my nineth attempt, i was notified the they was in the process of accepting my appeal. About 5 minutes later, i got a notice stating that my appeal had been approved and later learned that my instructor had been reprimanded. I was about a week behind on my studies, my grades had dropped again. I decided not to reenroll, they only approved my appeal for the tuitition funds. I then called The department of education and reported wrong doing and had my loans stopped before week four start, so that it would charge back 100%. A week after that, i received a call from a new advisor and wanted to know why i had not signed into my classes. I said i never enrolled, they had forcibly enrolled me to take my financial aid. Im still in shock, ive learned my lesson, and im telling my story. There is more details i saved for a reason, now i believe i save some details that hopefully will free me from this loan debt.
