Cooper Car Center Reviews

  • Jun 23, 2016

I purchased this vehicle from Ebuymotorz in February of 2014. A month later the location was closed. After contactiong the bank and finding out my loan was not with them, I was stuck about where my payment was going. In April 2014 I received a call about payment and new location. After time of paying on line, the website was shut down between May and June of 2015. I became suspicious. I went to the DMV and did a certified title history search. That is where I found out that my name and signature were forged on the title transfer(stamped surrendered underneath my name) and application of title. I questioned it. No explanation. In July of 2015. I received a call from Cooper Car Center about payment. I refused any payment until I received paperwork about the loan being transfered. No expalnation. I made my payment with a verbal agreement to get the paperwork. I made the payment on July 24, 2015 and did not receive the paperwork. From that point on I sent two certified letters demanding paperwork to prove that they held the loan. No respone. I contacted the DMV, the investigator took almost three months to respond after he told me 15 days. I filed a lawsuit in February of 2016. In April of 2016, they took the car back. These people have dockered paperwork. The original people I bought the vehicle from had their license revoked from the OCCC in December of 2014. The new owners did not acquire the debt until November 2015. So I have had many questions that they have difficulty answering. And with the answers I have received through OCCC, they cannot back them up with any paperwork.

I took the following steps to resolve this issue:

1. Sent two certified letters for proper paperwork

2. Contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where they are not registered

3. Contacted TX DMV, the investigtor was of no help, but I was told to file a complaint against him, which I am in the process of doing

4. Contacted the Attorney General

5. Contacted OCCC

6. Filed a lawsuit

These people claim to report your payments to the credit bureaus, lies. They are scam artist and need to be stopped. I have done research on complaints and people have been concerned about receiving titles, about new owners with providing any paperwork and illegal repossessions. As a consumer, I have the right to question where my money is going and if I will receive a tilte once my payments are complete. I have the right to question forgery. I have gone to the police, but since this has become a civil matter, they cannot help me.

I have summed this all up, but I will be more than happy to answer any questions.
