Cooper's Towing Reviews

My road service business has been operating since 1980 and opened my business in 1978 in the Harrisburg Pa. area. I contracted with Allstate Motor Club in 1980 as a road service provider. From 1980 till around the mid 90's Allstate was not any worse than any other motor club like any business venture there are always issues to address over the years. In the mid 90's to date Allstate has gone down hill every year. In June of 2010 I was informed I complain to much and Allstate was breaking ties with my company.

My complaint was that Allstate showed the service providers banking information on our profile on their site. When I informed them of this security risk they stated I was causing trouble and they would not change it. I informed them no one needs to view that information except claims to pay for services and the banking information should be kept offline. After four years I checked back with Allstate to see if anything changed just out of curiosity. They had the Wellness representative call me to discuss what happened to me in the past and the changes that have taking place. They apologized for their actions and said they wanted to reinstate my company and rebuild a good working relationship. I agreed and accepted the offer at the same rate I had on my 2009 rate schedule of $30.00 base rate plus $2.00 per miles enroute after 5 miles.

Everything went well with a high call volume for a few months then I noticed a significant drop in call volume and questioned my field representative about this issue. I was informed that I charge them to much so if I wanted my call volume back up I would have to accept a lower rate for my services. They wanted me to drop my base rate from $30 to $26 and drop my mileage rate from $2.00 a mile to $1.50 per mile. I told them I was offended they even had the nerve to suggest a lower rate as a resolution to the problem. I declined the offer but kept requesting more call volume. After a few phone calls to Mike Short my current field manager the calls stopped.

When I called network support to inquire why I wasn’t getting calls they said I was not on their VAIL system (automated dispatch) and I had to talk to my field manager since he was the one that caused the issue. I was extremely offended Mr. Short went behind my back after talking to him the same day he pulled me off dispatch and he never said a work during our phone conversation. Mr. Short was off for personal days no surprise to me he did this when he was not going to be in the office. I then called Greg Nelson and requested the Field manager’s manager to contact me. Mr. Short demeanor and attitude got even worse but he set up a 3 way call with him, his supervisor and myself to attempt to resolve my issues. On Jan. 19, 2016 around 12:30 EST I addressed Mr. Short’s attitude and his unprofessional manor he handled cutting off my dispatches without notice and address the intimidating threat he made that if I did not accept lower rates and stop complaining I would not be a service provider for them. When I stated these facts with Mr. Muro (Sup) on the 3 way call Mr. Short apologized for his actions and poor judgment but both stated they did not want to lose my company as a provider because I have a 100% service record but I would still have to accept a lower rate. But if I did accept a lower rate I could get more calls.

Summery of this issue is Allstate baits you into serving members with a good call volume then they figure they can bully the subcontractors into working for nothing. Hence when they promised things changed they lied and use services for increased profits and tell you no one else complains why are you. I am very interested in other service providers input so feel free to post thank you.
