With a binding estimate of $6300, the movers showed up and loaded 1/2 of our things. They then said we had double the cubic feet estimated. We had moved with Allied from CA to FL with more than what we were moving back, so it would be impossible the actual amount of cubic feet would be more! I also had Allied come out and give an estimate. They walked through the entire home and came up with nearly 1/2 the cubic feet Conway Vanlines was now saying we had. After arguing they left with 1/2 our things. After negotiating for 3 days, and agreeing to pay their now $8600, they picked up the other 1/2.
Delivery day, different people in a different truck show up. Only 1/2 of our things arrived. Not a single thing was undamaged. All of our furniture was wet and water damaged. Aquarium was nothing more than a pile of glass! Even all of our bicycles were broken. Yet we still had to pay the remaining $3000 in cash. We were told the other 1/2 would arrive the following week. A week later, 2 boxes were delivered!
Our kids entire playroom never showed. Boxes of American Girl dolls and Accessories.
Sophie, the manager, told us to file a claim. The claim was filed with pictures and estimates, receipts etc. Last week, 9/19/2016 I receoved an email from movingclaims.net that they have terminated their contract with Conway Vanlines and I would have to work directly with them.
Now Conway Vanlines website is removed, numbers disconnected and emails inactive.
The worst company ever!!!! Tried to charge me $400 EXTRA after I signed a written contract on the day of the move. Then had the nerve to try to charge me a cancellation fee! PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Linda Ade is the rudest customer service I have ever spoken to. Instead of listening to me she tried to talk OVER me and argue with me. What business argues with the customer? Very misleading and deceptive business practices at Conway Van Lines!
