DO NOT LET AMERICAN CONTINENTAL WARRANTY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER. DONT ALLOW THESE PREDATORY SCAM ARTISTS TO RAPE YOUR PARENTS BANK ACCOUNT OR PREY ON THEM VIA PHONE.
My father is in his 80's and never took care of any of the personal bill payment before my mother passed away, this POS "so-called" warranty company told him how bad he desperately needed to have his 2007 Buick warantied because he would have very expensive repairs that he couldn't afford. We called them approximately 1 year ago to tell them to cancel the $266.90 per month but my father wasn't the most literate when checking his bank statement so he didn't notice that the $266.90 debits from his account continued.
I just contacted this company tonight and asked them to stop the debits to the accounts but they tried to put me through a lengthy cancelation process. I will be contacting the bank tomorrow and changeing account information and debit cards, I will also consult an attorney to see if I can get any of his money back since he didn't approve the monthly debits.
They lie, they don't cover anything and are a total waste of money. Please research and find a company that has some positive reviews. Save your money. I would have paid 3,000 less if I just paid for my own repairs that they denied. My Audi top stopped working but they won't cover the sensor. They won't cover a pressure regulator in the engine. I was told that my keyless entry was covered so long as it wasn't my key FOB would be covered. Of course, it's a sensor on both the passanger and driver handle so they denied it. Stay clear!
I spent $4,000 of my hard-earned money on an extended warranty for my Volvo XC70 from Continental Warranty, Inc. It was supposedly a comprehensive policy that would cover ALL the repairs my car might need in the coming years. When it came time for repairs, however, they nickel and dimed me about labor costs and refused outright to cover some repairs. I needed a new indicator stick and Continental claimed that the old stick could be removed and replaced in 30 minutes. I called the Service Departments of ALL the Volvo dealerships in my area and every dealership said to do the job properly would take at least one hour. What a scam Continental Warranty is running! Basically, with every repair my car will need over the course of the warranty, I will be forced to pay for most of the labor costs myself to have the job done right by a certified Volvo mechanic...even after shelling out $4,000 for a warranty. Before purchasing my policy, I asked carefully about what was covered and was assured that all mechanic problems with the car were covered by the warranty. The washer nozzle on my rear tailgate needed to be replaced and Continental Warranty refused to cover it outright. I would have been better off taking that $4,000 and hiding it under my mattress! Learn from my mistake. Avoid Continental Warranty in particular and auto warranty companies in general. They take your money and then refuse to pay out when your car needs repairs.
