I applied for and was approved for a Surge Credit Card from Continental Financing, which was advertised on the web as having no annual fee. It's a good thing I read the "Account Opening Disclosures" document before activating the card when I received it because it said there is a $99 annual fee PLUS a $120 monthly maintenance fee. I called Continental Financing about this and waited on hold for nearly 1 1/2 hours to speak with the Customer Relations Manager.
She refused to admit the company does false advertising, and she also refused to have the fees removed from my account. BEWARE OF CONTINENTAL FINANCING!!! They are a dishonest, unreputable company for trying to trick consumers with misleading advertising. I will also be contacting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Better Business Bureau about them.
Well I have applied for Verve Credit Card which is Finance through Continental Finance. Anyway I just recently applied for the card and they have already sent me a billed for $35.00 that is due on July 5, 2017.
Remind youI just applied for the card on June 5, 2017 and was approved but from my understanding the reason why I had applied for the card was under my assumption that even though would be an annual fee.
From www.creditcards.com where I had applied for the card show that a annual fee or $120.00 would be charged with a minimum of $10.00 charged on the card for 12 months.
As I had setup the activation for the card it has stated that my annual fee was $125.00 plus that card protection fee that I had applied to the card.
I just got off the phone with a customer service rep regarding my credit card account with Verve DBA Continental Finance. I accepted the card and set my payments up on auto pay, all payments were drafted correctly from October 2014 to Feb of 2015 when the payments rafted from my account and then an additional 40.00 payment would be drafted then reversed then the credit card company charges 35.00 to my account. This has been going on since February of 2014. Upon speaking with customer service there is nothing they can do about the reversal charges on the account. I advised the customer service rep I would be reporting their company and contacting the credit reporting agencies to verify this does not negatively impact my credit. Do not do business with this company and their unscrupulous practices.
I sent a check to pay off for my credit card amount of 258 dollars. They've recieved my check and cashed it which I have approve of a copy of my check. The check been cashed since 5-21-15 but this company refusing to give me a credit of 258 dollars. Until today I still have to pay a very high intrest.
