We reported to Consumers Energy Service program that our dishwasher quit working. Consumers sent out a repair company to fix our dishwasher. The repairman said a board shorted out due to a power surge. He suggested buying the dishwasher out of the program which was $300.00 After waiting a month, I called Consumers to find out the status of my dishwasher. Consumers said it was caused by a "power surge". They do not fix power surges. After talking to a supervisor, they sent out another repairman and he said water had backed up in my dishwasher and got water on an electrical board that shorted out. The repair cost more than what the dishwasher costs so he recommended buying out the dishwasher for $300.00. Again, I waited for 3 weeks, thinking a check was in the mail. NO CHECK I called them back and they, again, said it was caused by a power surge and they don't cover power surges. I have paid this company $65 a month for six years amounting to, at least, $3900 and they refused me a $300 buy out for a new dishwasher.

On 10/19/2018 Called Consumers Energy to report our Furnace was acting up.I pay $20.24 per month for repair plan through Consumers Energy.Was told we were a pryority due to what was going on with furnace was told repair man could come as late as 12:00 midnight.But no one called or came.Called again at 1:00 pm on 10/20/2018 was told if i did not get a call by 2:00 pm to call back so at 2:00 called back to tell them no one called from repair service at at 1:00pm furnace quit working no heat.Was told that if I did not get a call by 3:00 pm to call back so at 3:00 pm called back had no one call or show up.Then Consumers Energy told me that the person said they did not service our area and because the repair case was open they could not help for 24 more hours then they would rescedual an appointment.I am Disabled have MS sitting here with no heat and no promiss that anyone will help after paying my monthly payment for service repair.They have my bill as Meri R. T. they shortened my name to Meri for bill

I was informed recently that I have been charged for two years on my gas bill for an appliance service plan I had no knowledge of. I was advised by an associate that she reviewed the call and that I authorized them to start a free month trial and after that I would have to call to cancel. I never had that conversation, agreeing to a service plan even for a free month, so I politely asked for a copy of the recording. She told me I could have it if I got a subpoena. I also asked for the text of the conversation, which she also refused to give me. So all I have is her word that I agreed to an appliance service plan and no details about how I did other than via a phone call. These monthly charges over the past two years come to more than $600! I had confidence in this company; that's why I didn't check my bill more carefully, but that was clearly a mistake. If they had proof that I agreed to this plan, why don't they provide the audio of the recording without requiring a subpoena?
