This guy came to my house. Told me that he needed to see my DTE bill to verify if I was being charged too much for the gas surcharge. He made it sound like DTE was at fault and he was there to verify it and make it right. After he took my cell number, my DTE account number and meter number he explained I would get a $50 gift card for DTE 's error. He said they would fix it and it would not happen again. He said the new gas surcharge would only be .43 cents for the next two years. Again putting the blame on DTE and this would be the apology so to speak. He said I would be getting a phone call and they would be hard to understand but to just answer all the questions with a yes. He stood outside for a while while I waited for the phone call. I did some research on the Internet while waiting for the call. Vety many topics on this same situation. When the call came in I had a very uneasy feeling. I told the guy I was not interested and did not want to go thru with this. He said ok and ended the call. Next thing I know the guy was back knocking on my door. I did not answer. This whole thing made me very nervous. They were trying to switch me to their gas company. Very misleading. Conartists!
