A few years ago I paid $97 in 2013 for a DNA informational test from Connect My DNA. I received the package and resubmitted it in quickly.
When I receive the results I was shocked and disappointed. But it was early in the companies operation so I had nothing to compare it with.
I fathers parents were Hungarian immigrants who arrived in this country in the early 1900s. My mothers family have a documented geneology which dates back to the 12th century and is basically English, Scottish and Irish.
The top results came back from Connect my DNA as from Sweden..in the top ten results none of those countries were listed..including Hungary.The countries were from 1 to 10 were Sweden, Belguim, Spain, Austrailia, Solvania, Croatia,Poland, Belarus, Ireland and Iraq in that order. There is no history that any of my ancesters ever lived in Sweden,no was there any documented exodus from Hungary to Sweden. It seems like they just made this stuff up. Now that I see other subscribers indicating the same issues I was prompted to go ahead and share my story.
My father looks very Hurgarian and so do I. Connect My DNA claims to reveal your ancestary results. I do not trust these results and would not advise any consumer to spend money on this " DNA test".
I purchased this DNA test on a Living Social disccount. I was so excited to see my results but when I got them back, after waiting two weeks there was no useful information. Please do not waste your time or money on this.
This is a bogus analysis of DNA. I am of polish decent and very fair skinned. My top category was phillipino, then portuguese, next Morroccan, No possible way this is correct.
My wife's (who is full blodded Itailian) results: 1) Irish, Mexican, Afgan, and Bangledesh. What a crock of feces.
