we have a Conair IonShine hair blower which has been used very little. The soft plastic covering on the handle deteriorated so the gunk gets all over your hands when you try to use it. I contacted Conair through their website. They replied
"Thank you for the email. We apologize for the inconvenience concerning the stickiness of the blow dryer.
As stated in your manual, we will be happy to replace your unit under the limited warranty. All warranty returns must be pre-authorized by calling our service department at 1-800-326-6247. They will need the following information: name, address, phone number, model number, and date of purchase. We will provide return mailing instructions once we have created a service notification.
If a receipt is not available, the warranty will be determined by a 4 digit manufacturer code imprinted on the plastic of the unit or the metal prong of the plug. As it is difficult to find, we would suggest calling when you have the unit with you so we may help you locate the date code.
Our phone lines are open Monday thru Friday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday thru Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Any representative will be happy to assist you.

I have tried numerous times to call the number they provided and get only a machine that says 'your call is very important to us." But that's all I ever get. Have waited as much as 15 minutes, and never a person. Replied to the email over a weeek ago and told them I can't get thru, but they have not answered. So I have concluded that my call was not important to them at all. But that does not change the fact that the product has inherit flaws in material selection and should be REPLACED at no cost to the consumer.
