I was referred to CPS by my primary doctor in August of 2015 due to a lower back injury. Now I will not get into the politics governing our healthcare but my primary doctor told me he was far too scared to place me on pain management through his office due to the DEA. So after referral, I called to schedule an appointment to be seen at CPS. This is about the end of August 2015 and I was at that time told I would not be able to get in until December that year. When I asked what am I to do in the meantime, I was told go to the emergency room. Yeah that’s a viable solution.

So I went to the appointment in the first week of December at which time I was sent for more MRI's even though I brought MRI's taken in August of that year. MRI was the following day but I did not receive a follow up appointment for another 5 weeks from them. No communication, nothing. When I would call I would only get an answering service or voicemail. After no less than 40 messages I received my follow up for the 3rd week of January. At that time I was told the same thing my GP had said in regards to my condition No hope. So be it. Went on pain medication at that time and started the wonderful monthly appointments at which time after 2 months I begged, and yes literally had to beg them, to try injections and anything else to get ahead of it without medications. I was scheduled for 5 injections in each knee at 1 week intervals. I was told I needed a driver at each occurrence. I had to cancel the 1st appointment due to driver having the flu and of course had to call and leave a voicemail. No call back nothing at which time I just said the hell with it. On lunch 3 weeks later, I received a random email from them saying I had an appointment of which it was that day and 30 minutes from that moment. No warning, no calls, nothing before that. I showed up at which time the desk lady said I could not be seen due to no driver. I literally raised all hell until the doctor came out and told her I never needed a driver for the procedure.

I went back and received the shots and the excuse that CPS had laid off a lot of people and changed services with whoever answers phones. Ok fine I can understand that.

5 visits later no better. Went in for a normal visit and refill at which time I had to re-explain myself for the missed appointments. I was told if there wasn’t a valid reason I would be kicked out of pain management. WTF?? I suppose the reason I gave, in regards to THEM not contacting me, was good enough and was told that I would receive yet another call someday for an appointment to try a different shot once insurance would approve. Was given prescriptions and told to wait for the call.

I went 3 minutes down the road to have scripts filled at which time the blonde bimbo at Walgreens tells me I cannot have them for 10 more days and in the meantime I should seek drug counseling. WTF?? I raised literal hell in Walgreens as well until the pharmacist came over and told her she was FIRED for her remarks and the fact she was totally wrong on filling the prescriptions.

Now here is the main complaint against CPS. On the scripts, the doctor something on the script they could not read and stated they needed confirmation before they could fill the prescription. They called for over 7 hours and never could get a person to answer nor a return phone call. I myself called 53 times that day trying to get someone. This was 9 am the morning of 5/26/2016 throughout the rest of that day.

5/27/16 Walgreens called and told me they could not get anyone to answer. They even tried the emergency "supposed on call option" and never got an answer. I called as well and after 63 minutes of holding listening to a computer tell me how much they can help, someone picked up. When I told them the issue I was transferred. 47 minutes later a lady answered and said new patient services. WTF!!! Told her the issue and she said there was nothing she could do and the clinic was closed on Fridays.

The business, and that is all it is, does not understand the importance of having patients and running a medical practice. You’re not a patient at this place and only a dollar figure. They refuse to communicate with you, will not answer the phones and provide no support to their patients. NO COMPANY should legally be allowed to run a medical practice. Only true board certified doctors of which they should have a patient capacity limit. Lining up people like cattle in endless lines to be seen for mere minutes simply so they can charge your insurance hundreds of dollars at a time is a down right crime.

They use narcotics as a way to control you, no different than a drug dealer and then demean you each and every visit like criminals or drug addicts. I did not want this crap but was given no other options so now yes, I am physically addicted to pain medication. They just created a lifetime patient and or a future heroin addict considering 75% of heroin addicts today began with pain medications.

We wonder why TN has the highest rate of drug addiction in the US and there are more prescriptions written for narcodics each month than there are people in the state? A place like this is why. We contacted this facility concerned about the prescriptions CPS has been writing to a family member. All they're concerned about is hitting Cigna every month with an insurance claim. All they want from the patient is an X-ray and you're good for an entire year to collect your prescriptions.

The truth is, our family member doesn't need the prescriptions they write him. He sells them every month as SOON as he leaves CPS's office for the drugs he really wants. Less, of course a few pills to keep his bottles and pill count correct for his next CPS appointment. He'll stop using 4 - 5 days before his next appointment; drink one of those filter drinks to mask the drugs he's been taking the morning of his appointment, and he skates right through every month. He's tested positive for alcohol many times in their office and they've done nothing despite the fact he's been in the hospital several times for alcohol poisoning. I honestly don't think their drug test are any good at all if it's this easy to fool it. He's gone in with a complete sob story of lies and even cried and the doctor gave him Valium on top of percocet. I tell you either the doctor's an idiot or our family member should win an Oscar for his performance each month. You can see why the entire family is bracing for his death in the next year or two if things continue as they have for the last 15 years. Yes, he's been on these drug for 15 years, is completely hooked and CPS has no interest in helping him get off of them.

Alcohol, Percocet, Soma, Valium, Viagra, and weekly testosterone shots and let's not forget Marijuania - it's a wonder he's alive today and when we expressed our concerns, instead of trying to get to the bottom of what he was doing, they told him about our call and he's furious. Of course, he had another lie lined up and they believed him.

If you're interested in managing your pain, recovering from a surgery or rehabilitation and eventually getting back to a normal life, this isn't the place for you. In short, these doctors are enablers. There's no profit in getting patients off drugs. If you or someone you love needs pain management, find some place else to go unless you're looking for an assembly line situation and never want to be free of drugs.
