Did not use the service for months, was told when I signed up that there are no monthly fees; however, I was charged over $100/month. Called and advised that I no longer need the service, what do I do to close the account.
Did as I was told, submitted appropriate paperwork and I was told that I would not be charged any further fees. I submitted my closure documents on September 19, 2012 and was charged $118.80 on October 2, 2012. I called and spoke with "customer service" and I was told that they only process refunds at the end of each month, my $118.80 would be refunded at the end off the month.
Called on November 19, 2012 because I did not receive the refund, called and was told that "management" denied it. I asked to speak with management, I was put on hold and then the line went dead. Called back 4 more times (because I kept on getting disconnected) and then I was told that they cannot refund money to a closed account and that if I wanted my money back, I would have to apply for a new account. I then asked if I would be charged another monthly fee and she said, "Yes." So, why would I open a new account, be charged another fee that I can't get back?
Asked for the name of the person who denied my refund, she said that they don't have names. There should be a class action suit against this company!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There are way too many companies providing quality service tht you don't have get stuck using this one. As a small business with some credit issues, I was happy to have someone say "yes". I didn't have any real knowledge of the processing world and I ws sold on the notion that I would be cutting out the middle man therefore saving money. NOT TRUE!!! This company has been nothing but a nightmare almost from the beginning but it took a long time to really see what they were about. We received faulty equipment that we could rarely swipe the cards on (which raised the fees), we were't told about the outrageous $99 IRS reporting fees (which on the contract says "insurance"), we didn't receive notice about how to view our statements online, and it's like pulling teeth to get someone to answer the phone!
The monthly fees are OUTRAGEOUS and there's no one available to completely explain what's what. You never receive a refund check when they debit your account in error - it "comes out on your next statement" which you don't see if you don't know how to access the statement! I have lost sooooo much money with this company and the frustration of trying to get someone to call back, is at an all-time high! The average time spent on the phone with them is about AN HOUR and what business has the time to do that! And...the problems are rarely rectified so you have start the process all over again. There's only one supervisor in customer service named David and he appeases the stressful situations but doesn't reall solve them. I was overpaid for months and David agreed to reduce my monthly minimum payments and wireless terminal fees to keep me as a customer. That did not happen. There are FEES ON TOP OF FEES so BEWARE!!
The so-called customer service is a JOKE because there seems to be only three people working and when you call you have to listen to this annoying music and messages like "there are 9 callers ahead of you." THIS IS ALWAYS THE CASE!
I tried six times on June 6, 2011 to reach someone about the $143.67 worth of fees (yeah, for one month!) and to this day NO ONE has called me back! I finally was able to access my statement and saw that they ONCE AGAIN charged the $99 fee to my account. They also charged more than promised for my monthly minimum. I called again on the 7th of June and that's when I found out the owner's name: Michael Mendlowitz
I wrote a letter to the owner on June 7th to see if he cared enough about his business to do something about it. I can't afford to keep giving away money and to have to deal with a company with herendous customer service and support.

This bogus offer comes in an official letterhead envelope from Canada. It appears to be offering you employment as a mystery shopper and included is a check,in my case for 2940.90. Of which 2500.00 is to be western unioned back to them within 2 days. You keep the rest and mystery shop at one of several places and also mystery shop the western union place.
I feel ashamed that I fell prey to these pieces of crap, and what I would give to be alone in a room for 15 minutes with one of them. But in hard times we tend to let our guard down, at least I did.
This check is from chase morgan bank and manages to go through the banks machine and 2 days later I get the money out so I figure well it must be a good check? I then send them the money and on the third day the check is returned and I unfortunately am out 2700.00 and the bank tells me there is nothing they can do, because they no longer have the check.
They do however tell me when I get it back to notify all authorities and Chase Bank. Well if I have it back why can't I give it to them, sionce afterall their bank cashed the check through their systems. Seems to me they would have far greater luck recovering the money than myself.
Once again the case of another large banking institute not taking any responsability. I agree it is my fault for falling for this scam in my time of urgency and need but they should have systems in place to check a bad check even it means taking three minutes to call that bank to verify account.
So anyways just wanted to share with you all if you get a letter from Canada promising you a position as a mystery shopper and sending money to someone in England or any Country for that matter, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT cash this check and report them immediately.

Changed from internet acceptance of credit cards to wireless terminal. They DOUBLE charged me for 2 accounts for 4 months til I caught it. When I went with another company. I cancelled on the 2nd day of the month. The rep said that it would be pro-rated for the 2 days for the month (maybe $1-$2). The money JUST got debited for $145.37. They charged me a "compliance"fee of $99 and a fee for not running ENOUGH cards for the month $15 and the FULL month of maintenance fees. Rip off is too light of a name for this company's reputation.

First - I signed up and they had my bank account information. However, I never let them program my terminal or processing ANY transactions.
Then - They started with arbitrary charges every month. Anywhere from $42 to $201, every month - and I was doing NO volume with them at all. Nothing. Finally I called and dedicated a half day to wait on hold for them, so I could complain about the charges, which they did refund.
Then - months later, a mysterious charge, I think it was $99, showed up again. I called and waited again, and they claimed a system glitch had re-activated the account and charge me the annual fee (which the website claimed they did not have). Yeah right! If the are charging you when you don't even have any transactions and talk hours to get a hold of them, what a JOKE.
Stay very far away from this company. It says right on the website "no Hidden Charges, ever". I would have to say that there were a lot of hidden charges with CPS, so it would not be smart to trust anything they say.

After being guaranteed that their processing was compatible with my existing machine, I applied for an account. We never had an executed contract - only the application which pre-supposed a working terminal! After determining that they lied about the compatibility, we tried alternate arrangements but they refused to respond to emails and they never sent a new machine. I never had a working machine. We never processed one single transaction. I called & finally spoke with David Devers and he faxed me a form to cancel the service; I faxed the completed form & retained the fax confirmation.
After retaining the services of a new cc processing company, we didn't realize they were taking funds from my account. They were very sneaky - they varied the amount each month and no statement was ever sent, so we assumed the fees were the new company. They continued their theft for 14 months.
When we realized what was happening we assumed it was an oversight and would be corrected immediately. We were wrong. After numerous phone calls, each time being put on hold for 20-30 minutes, they had one excuse & promise after another. Each time they gave just enough information to lead us to believe they were actually working on a refund. After a few such calls, my patience wore thin & I called back & demanded a refund. I was told my refund had been declined!!!
I insisted on speaking with management - to no avail. I insisted on the decision in writing - again, I have nothing.
They stole funds from my account, refused to return it and refuse to communicate any reason for such actions. In short, they are thieves!!! I believe them to be connected to the mob or gangs or other nefarious organization designed to steal to finance their operations.
Please visit the Better Business Bureau. They were claiming they were BBB accredited - they were NOT. The BBB forced them to cease that lie and to-date there are 140 or more complaints registered against them. They are thieves. Do not do business with this company.

Commerce Payment Systems declined my merchant account application yet several months later they used my banking information (provided in my application) to withdraw funds from my account. Over $100/month for a period of 4 months. They ended up taking over $500 before I finally got them to stop. Now they are saying my refund is "under review". What is there to review? I was not a customer yet they stole over $500 from me!!!

The customer service is the worst I have ever seen. You will be on hold at least a half hour before getting through. I have been overcharged about $200 just in monthly fees. I am in the process of closing my account.
I wish I would have seen this website prior to signing up with them.

First, they advertise they are the "trusted merchant account provider of the bbb" & that they are a "bbb accredited business". Neither of these being true. I did not find this out until after they fraudulently removed over $750 from my business checking account, thus causing $185 in overdraft charges.
I signed up for two merchant accounts with them - one online & one swipe. Initially, i was only going to open one as my website wouldn't be ready for several months. The sales guy told me "just open both, it won't cost you anything if you don't use it". I made sure the contracts both indicated no minimum sales requirement.
I guess contracts no longer mean anything because i was told i was charged these Very random) fees due to non-usage.
I left a message for the owner Michael) to call me. Since he didn't have the guts to call me back, it is obvious that he is a very wimpy pirate hiding behind his pirate puppets.
I am moving forward with legal action...Cannons ready - if anyone else wants in...Contact me through scamion!
Our economy has enough to worry about without honest small business owners being poached by these white collar pirates!

I recently opened a new business and have been processing credit cards with Commerce Payment Systems since Dec 1, 2010. Today is Dec 13 and I have yet to receive a single deposit into my account, even though I have sold a significant amount of my product, and have settled my batch on a daily basis. I have made several phone calls, all of which have gone un-returned to the "executive sales" person I worked with. They also withdrew $78 from my bank account on Dec 2, a fee that was not agreed upon, and does not appear in my contract anywhere. I was very specific about requiring a dual-comm terminal and was assured that was all they carried. Surprise---I didn't get one. Everything has been fraudulent with Commerce so far. And now my money is being held hostage.

Commerce Payment Systems systematically steals money out of your bank account which they have access to, because you sign an agreement with them to process credit card purchases for your business. We signed up with them November 09. There was suppossed to be an annual charge of $49, however we were charged $49 a month for 28 months.
In addition there were excessive processing charges for each month in direct confict of our signed agreement. They never sent a processing statement and although they say you can review your account on the internet there is no way you can access this.
After several telephone calls to challenge these overcharges, a customer service person confirmed they owed me as of July 1st over $1022.00. This does not include the other overcharges relative to percentage rates. However collecting this money has been impossible. We keep getting shifted from one person to another.
In reviewing my contract I learned that HSBC Bank USA is the holding bank for funds held in reserve for this company. I am calling them tomorrow to inform them of the probem I am having with their client they are processing credit card payments for. I feel they are complicent in this scheme of systematic theft even though they may not feel they are.
Their telephone number is 7168416360. I am also going to inform the New York Attorney Generals Office with my complaint as well. I implore all other businesses with a complaint to take the sme action. I have only read 14 complaints on this site so far, but I can only believe there are countless thousands of businesses being defrauded this way.
