Lexington Kentucky is the home of the Keeneland race track. They race thoroughbreds and have two racing meets. One in the spring and one in the fall. Hotel prices double and triple the closer you get to the racing meets. The week before the meets open, you have to be very lucky to find a hotel room. And if you do, you will be paying a lot of money for it.
After I checked in on Oct. 11th, 2019, (3-night stay) I went to my room and there were bugs in the bedroom. I asked for another room, was denied. Said that there were no vacancies. Said that they are stink bugs, and since the weather was going to get colder that night, I shouldn't have them anymore after tonight.
A cleaning lady came in and starting grabbing them with her hands and was flushing them down the toilet. She told me that they had a problem with them. I went upstairs and called a few hotels in the area and they didn't have any vacancies.
I left and came back only to see more bugs. I went and grabbed some kleenex and started to catch them and flush em down the toilet. There was one on the ceiling that I couldn't reach. I couldn't sleep all night thinking about these bugs crawling around and in my bed.
The next morning I got out of bed and seen 3 more bugs on the curtain. When I was exiting the hotel, I stopped at the counter and told them that that I had more bugs come into the room overnight. They said that they would let the cleaning lady know.
I came back to the hotel around 8:00 pm. I went to my room to find that my room wasn't cleaned. More bugs, I captured and flushed. Went down to the counter and told them that my room wasn't cleaned and had more bugs. She apologized and said that she will leave a message for the manager.
Sunday morning I got up and more bugs. I showered, ate breakfast, left. I returned about 8pm. I went to room, it was cleaned. captured one bug and flushed. Monday morning I woke up, seen 2 bugs. Seen 2 bugs. I flushed them. I Checked out. No discounts, no apologies. No contact from the manager. This hotel stays totally disrupted my business trip.
In summary, I've been going back and forth with a person named Audra S. Conley, General Manager, after I filed a complaint and asked for a full refund with Choice hotels.com. That is where I reserved my hotel stay with Comfort inn & suites on August 7th 2019.
She originally offered me $58.04. Then I put my complaint in writing and sent it to her. Then she said that she will credit me another 150.43. Now I feel that since I'm dealing with someone without consideration for their guests, and wasting my valuable time following up with this nonsense, I will post my complaint with the websites that deal with companies like this one and make it known to the public.
I was a guest in Comfort Inn & Suites in Blue Ridge Ga
The first night I had a wonderful experience
The staff was very nice and helpful
The problem was on my second night
I have a medical condition that requires me to use 5 ice packs every night to be able to sleep. When I checked in on the first day I gave the clerk my bag with my ice packs and told her how they needed to placed in the freezer. I also told her it was a medical condition that required me to have the icepacks to be able to sleep.
On the last morning, I gave the clerk my icepacks so they could put them in the freezer. Then that night I came to the reception desk to pick the icepacks up
I told the clerk what I was there for. He came back with a single ice pack that did not belong to me. I told him that was not mine. He then handed me my bag with the ice packs but it was behind the counter. They had been laying at the front desk all day and NOT in the freezer
Needless to say I was hacked off. That meant I did not sleep at all since my body temperature spikes upon laying down.
On top of that the clerk looked like it was a total inconvenience that I was bothering him. No apology but a bit of attitude
The reason for my frustration is they knew this was a medical condition, and made no attempt to contact me when they decided on the second day that they could not place the icepacks in their freezer.
I did find a note that said something like gentleman wanted us to put the icepacks in our freezer. Cannot do it we use it for food. Guest has fridge in his room (of course the freezer part is way too small to hold the icepacks).
This is not the experience I had expected in Blue Ridge.
