If you're looking for a new Samsung Fridge and Stove, reconsider! Home Depot sold me the Samsung set with promises that if a repairman came out 3 times to replace a part, I would then get my choice of another appliance to replace the Samsung.
Right off the fridge was not working. My food spoilt due to temperature swings and although Home Depot sent a repairman out, he had to come back in 2 weeks after he ordered the part from Korea! I did without a fridge until then. Once the parts were put in the problem remained. I tried all the workarounds that I could think of, but it was useless.
The stove is still dehydrating and undercooking my food and burning anything I put on the cooktop. I was forced to use my toaster oven and crockpot to cook with while I tried to get some resolution from Home Depot and then Comerco.
Comerco staff was rude and uncaring. I was told that my stove was made to turn up high on the cooktop since there was no such thing as a medium to low heat on my Samsung stove. It only went from high to off and then back to high again. They also wouldn't believe me when I said the timer on the stove didn't work properly and the oven temperature was uneven. Their solution was for me to cook a store-bought box cake in the oven then take pictures of it when it was done. Since I only cook from scratch, I couldn't comply, and Comerco refused to send anyone out.
Finally, the stove was giving an error code and Comereco had to send someone out. Whether the gentlemen changed out a part or not, I cannot say. He was between the stove and the wall so I couldn't see. He told me that my stove was designed to last 5 years anyways, then off he went.
Both my stove and fridge are still not working. I just recently made brownies in the stove and despite turning up the heat another 25 degrees higher and cook the brownies twice as long, the middle of the brownies was raw dough. It took three times the regular time to finally get them cooked, but by then they were burnt on the outside and top!
My fridge is running coolish right now and although I purchased a bar fridge to take some of the load off the Samsung fridge, It made no difference. I am always throwing food away! If I don't get my cooked fresh organic vegs ate up within 3 days, they end up all slimy and stinking.
I got a lot of empathetic looks from the Home Depot staff once I was in Comerco's grip, but they couldn't do a thing for me and Visa Versa.
Like the old saying goes, once bitten, twice shy...
Stay away from Samsung, Home Depot and Comerco if you want your sanity. All three companies spell disaster!
Never pay Comerco as an extended warranty, they are very rude and try to avoid sending their technician to fix anything, they are just their to eat your money and time.
We recently had two appliances needing service at the same time: fridge and range. Both same age, purchased in 2012 and under extended warranty with Comerco. The response from Comerco was and continues to be slow, or very slow, and very unresponsive. However the fridge did get fixed about 3 weeks after the initial service call to Comerco. The range service call was at the same time as the fridge and we are still waiting for service. About a week ago a repair guy called "about your fridge" and I said it's already been fixed, so I told him to call Comerco. Called them myself to follow up on the range: was asked what the problem was (like I know anything about ranges), was told to "take a photo and send it to our email address. Which I did twice, both times the email bounced back. Now have a call in to Roger Bilodeau, the CEO of the Company located in Laval QC, number of the company is 450-682-9900, left a message complaining about the service and requesting a call back.
And any companies who contract them to deal with warranty issues.
Worst customer service i’ve ever experienced.
4+hours of my life wasted - doing their job for them.
Couldn’t find a repair person in my area? Really?
Had to find my own repair service and spent multiple hours on hold trying to get ahold of them for support. Was not given appropriate information to resolve issues which resulted in more hold times.
Was told they would call me back and didn’t.
Had my file put on “rush” several times... Made no difference.
Customer support people were unhelpful, unaware of the correct information in my file and then the were extremely rude and unsympathetic.
Buyer beware!!!!
Never buying from home depot again after this experience.
I have never read the warranties in detail before purchasing them. I did purchase a warranty for a Kitchen Aid fridge through Canada Appliances . My fridge ended up completely breaking down . Camerco has sent a service person to replace the compressor however it did not work. It has been almost 3 weeks and i have 3 kids and we purchased a small bar fridge and are eating out way too much....
Camerco uses Trans Global to service appliances
The service person spent 4 hours at our house trying to fix the issue and Camerco is still not giving me a final decision . Hopefully i will know something soon

Once this was all corrected, she said she placed another service call and someone would call me that night. No one called me.
Email chain started from July 20.
July 24, 2017 at 9:38 a.m. – duration 5 min, 16 sec – passed around to various extensions with no one picking up the call. Asked to speak to the CEO or I was going to file a lawsuit for breach of contract as I had paid for the extended warranty in good faith. No one in the office took the call.

July 24th, 2017 - got email - they have reneged their offer to compensate me $125 for the lost food and still have not sent anyone out. I have no confirmation anyone is coming. My huband and I called TA appliances and told them we are not spending anymore money in their store unless they change waranty companies. So, not shopping at TA ever again.
We now have to wait until July 27th to have someone who won't show up fix the fridge. They won't have the parts as Comerco didn't ask what the problem was (the main compressor). We are out $1,600 for a two year old broken refrigerator.
In June, 2012 I purchased a Maytag Bravo X washing machine and dryer from Home Depot Canada. Because the applicances were floor models which were being discontinued, the sales rep strongly encouraged me to purchase the extended service plan for four additional years of service at a cost of $266.56, including tax. While it appeared that I was purchasing this service through Home Depot, it is, in fact through a company called Comerco Services Inc.
In the spring of 2016 my washing machine began making a very loud noise when on the spin cycle. This noise continued to increase and in April I contacted an independent and authorized Maytag washer repairman who came, looked at the machine and told me that it required a new bearing. At that time he told me that it would cost a fair amount to replace the bearing because the entire machine needs to be taken apart to access the bearing. He suggested that it was not worth the cost. When I told him that I thought I had extended warranty but wasn't sure, he told me to contact them and tell them what he had said. Comerco told me that they would have someone come out to look at the machine and they made arrangements for a Morning appointment approximately 10 days later. During this contact, I told the representative that I had had the machine examined and it needed a bearing. I gave them all of the information, including the serial number of the machine. The representative was somewhat annoyed that I had called an independent repairman and wanted to know why I had done that.
On the day that the technician was scheduled to arrive, I stayed home from work and waited until almost 12:30 before calling Comerco to ask them where my morning appointment had gone. I believe that the reason we refer to afternoon by that name is because it is after the hour of 12:00. What would then follow is that a morning appointment would be prior to noon. Comerco was surprised that the technician wasn't there, but within minutes (literally), he arrived. He apologized and explained that he lives approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours away and the traffic had been extremely heavy. In spite of the fact that they had all of my phone numbers, no one called to tell me that. He looked at the machine, listened to the spin cycle and told me that the machine needed a new bearing. He then told me that he would have to order the part and it would take at least two weeks to get the part.
Two to three weeks later, I was contacted and told that the part was available and they could now come back to install it. Arrangements were made for a mid-afternoon appointment so that I didn't have to waste another day waiting for him and he arrived more or less within the time arranged. One of the problems with this technician is that he lives outside of the metro area that I am in, he works only 9:00 - 5:00, Monday to Friday and it takes him at least an hour of travel time to get to me. He then started to repair my machine but approached me in a relatively short period of time to say that he had the wrong part. However, he was now able to get the part locally and would not have to order one. Because of this, he could come back the next afternoon at 3:00 to install the correct part. I told him that I could be home at 3:00 but that I had a 5:30 appointment elsewhere and would have to leave my house no later than 5:00. He assured me that the repair would take 2 hours at the most, so he could be at my house right at 3:00. (All of a sudden he can be specific about his time of arrival?)
On a Thursday afternoon in June, he arrived at my house at 3:00. He went into the laundry room and began the repair. I reminded him that I needed to be gone by 5:00. At 4:50 I went to see if he was going to be done by 5:00. He was just putting the machine back together and putting it in place. He tested the machine, felt that he had fixed the problem and left. I went into the laundry room to find that there was water and wet towels left behind which I then had to clean up causing me to be late for my appointment.
The first load of laundry I did after the repair surprised me in that the washing cycle was now making noise which it had not done prior to the repair. The spin cycle was quieter than it had been but nowhere near as quiet as it had been when the machine was new. Now the entire cycle start to finish was making noise. I decided I wasn't going to go through the hassle and waste of time calling either Comerco or the technician. I would simply use the machine until it quit working.
I then contacted a local appliance centre to enquire about buying a new machine. When I told the sales rep my tale of woe, he told me that it was within my right to hold the warranty service company to their representation of 100% satisfaction. I then contacted Comerco again advising that I was still having problems with the machine and specifically requesting that they not send the same technician. They set up a morning appointment for me today, September 16th.
At 9:15 this morning my home telephone rings and there is the very technician that had "repaired" the machine the first time and whom I had requested they not send. He was very courteous when he told me that he could be at my house by 1:00 - once again, after noon. I told him not to bother and hung up.
Although this company says that one of their values is "Respect", this company is absolutely unprofessional, disorganized , lacking in customer service and, in my estimation, a total rip-off. Their website clearly states the following services for appliance warranties:
- Service offered evenings and weekends (where available)
- Repaired to the manufacturers specifications
- Underwritten by a Canadian Insurance Company
It further states that "Comerco is the largest supplier and manager of Protection Plans in Canada and their programs are 100% insured."
There are numerous online complaints about this company which parallel my compaint and yet this company is allowed to continue to do business. What is even more deplorable is that retailers like Home Depot support this level of service and, in fact, push the service.
Stay away from Comerco Service and Home Depot. This is simply a money grab.

Bad customer service

slow, ineffective service
I purchased a warranty with Comerco from Caplans in Toronto thinking they provide the service.
No, they sub contract to Trans Global who then sub contracts to a local repair person in your area.
Comerco needs to rubber stamp any repairs and/or part that needs to be ordered and that could take 2-3 business days.
Our fairly new fridge died, it has been over 2 weeks and still not fixed.
Please do your homework before purchasing a warranty with Comerco, service is slow and there does not seem to be any accountability.
Try to find a local repair person instead!!!!

SLOW response...if at all
no issue with answering phone...however, their repair people don't seem well trained...
- repetitive phone calls to repair company
- not appearing to honor NO LEMON WARRANTY
- unreasonable waiting to have their repair companies assist clients
