Attempted to help my aunt get new service at her apartment. I've never dealt with a bigger pile of crap try to get any kind of service turned on in a home in my life that was close to that of dealing with the phone company or IRS as this experience I've had with Comcast. 9/9/2016 Waited for nearly an hour to get to the counter to talk with Ms. Sarah who was initially very nice and wanted to sell us a plan, also told us she was now on commission and suggested we come back to her when we were ready to set up service. So we fully intended to as we did not have my aunties apartment number on this particular day, at this point we were only shopping around for service and prices, so we promised Ms. Sarah we would come back to her. 9/12/2016 we now have the apartment number and attempted to set up service waited d**n near another hour just to specifically see Ms. Sarah as per her request and I believe in being faithful to those working on commission, so we waited and let others go ahead of us. We found out from Comcast that the company put a block on the apartment my auntie was moving into. Comcast BLOCK service to her apartment due to some past bills at the residence not having been paid from 20014 nearly "2" years earlier!!! Not really our problem. But we were willing to do what was necessary to get service, and satellite dishes were not allowed at her new place of residence. Had to get a copy of Aunties new lease and GA power receipt showing we had turned on new power at the residence, this was suppose to prove we / she was not related to or had anything to do with the previous old bad debt.
Planned on coming back next day with paper work. Wasted an entire afternoon with these shenanigans. All this for a debt that was not our debt and a two year old debt at that. 9/13/2016 (2pm) Waited in line again for another hour patiently, this time we were not going to wait for Sarah. Went to next attendant Ms. Debbie, tried to be patient with her and she knew we were not happy with all the B.S. especially considering my Auntie came from Florida, still had her FLA drivers license, copy of the new lease with us and GA power receipt with us in hand. Now we had to jump through more hoops due to the fact here new address was not on the GA power receipt and we needed a new so called Welcome Letter for the COMCAST credit department to prove she was not in the apartment back in 2014 or related to the previous customer who ran up the unpaid bill. Left the Comcast office for GA power and to go back home to find her old Bank statements from Florida for more documentation. 9/13/2016 (4pm) returned to the Comcast office with new letter from GA power and bank statements from B of A from Florida for the last couple of years. Had to wait in line again, albeit somewhat brief as compared to the last three times. we where told it would take anywhere from two hours to five days to get the COMCAST BLOCK lifted off the apartment and we would get a phone call from Comcast. I SAID SPECIFICALLY TO MS. DEBBIE "WHAT IF I DON'T GET A PHONE CALL" AND SHE REPLIES "ARE YOU CALLING ME A LIAR ??" THEN PROCEEDS TO THREATEN ME WITH CALLING SECURITY AND CALLING THE LOCAL POLICE. I also told her that I didn't want to have to come back to this place for a fourth time so I left. ONLY LATER TO FIND OUT from my aunt that Ms. Sarah was sending Email across the counter to Ms. Debbie that ' THIS ONE IS TROUBLE" in referring to me !! Why? Because I questioned the $400 advertisement we had received in the mail when I talked to her yesterday ??? This makes a CUSTOMER TROUBLE !!!
At this time of my writing and three afternoons of aggravation we still do not have any cable or internet or cable at my aunts residence and we are scared to say anything more to these people for the fear of them not calling or talking to us again. Let alone the fact the two service representatives were communicating with themselves behind the counter via Email, so we have no idea if they were actually doing their job or chatting among themselves! What a crock !! I'm here to tell you now that COMCAST is the trouble in more ways than one. First off they basically hold a monopoly on many apartment houses here in Cartersville GA because we can not put up a Dish Network or Direct TV dish and AT&T Uverse was not available yet in many areas. Next their advertising is very deceptive. We have received several mailings in the past month for $400 and $200 Pre-Paid visa cards and most recently a ten page brochure with smiling faces explain all the various plans available. The X1 Starter package said it has a DVR recorder with their starter package, which I could care less. But my aunt had to ask Ms. Debbie about the X1 DVR service that is advertised FREE with the 2 year service plan and Debbie said that was an OLD OFFER. -- WTF - !!! We just got the offer in the mail yesterday. Anything to do with the Pre-paid Visa Cards is just a come on if and only if you subscribe to their TOP DOLLAR PACKAGES WITH HBO, STARZ AND SHOW TIME. So don't believe this crap if you get it in the mail.
In closing if you have any choice other than dealing with these people at Comcast, go with Dish Network, Direct TV, or ATT Uverse - you would be wise to do it and stay away from dealing with Comcast in my honest opinion. Having wasted my time for three afternoons to jump through hoops to satisfy some old credit problem at my aunts new residence - not of our making and dealing with these people in the Cartersville GA office has caused my blood to go through the roof from having dealt with these people for the last three days both in person and on the telephone, to say I'm angry is an understatement. None of this has been made up or blown out of proportion as I hold no previous gripe against Comcast or have never dealt with these people up until this time and never plan to again. If you have any questions you can contact me directly Regards CLM
