I have been a member of this gym for a couple years now with no problems. It's a pricey place but I like the fact that it is close to my work and convenient. I have never had a problem until recently.
I recently received word that my work was moving me to Seattle so I needed to cancel my gym membership. I went in today, 3/9/16 and told them that I was moving at the end of the month and needed to cancel. The woman informed me that I would be charged on April 1st for the month of April due to not giving the appropriate amount of notice. I was shocked and tried to explain that I wouldn't even be here to use the membership.
She said there was nothing she could do and gave me the number to the corporate office. I called and spoke with Eileen, who besides being extremely rude and unhelpful, did absolutely nothing to help. She even told me if it didn't pay it they would take me to collections!
I understand companies have policies and everything, but sometimes the right thing to do is help a customer out. A customer who has a good chance of moving back to Denver in the future who will once again need a gym. And guess what? Do you think after this that there is any chance I'd ever join this gym again? And also, a customer who is going to tell every single person he knows to avoid this gym at all costs- and also post on every social media site I can in hopes of warning others of this awful experience. I hope that one month of membership dues they are scamming me out of are worth it.
