Coastal Inspection Services Reviews
Coastal Inspection Services was hired by our real estate agent to conduct a home inspection on our current home on March 9th, 2022. In their report, Coastal Inspection Services listed our dishwasher and oven as operable.
Fast forward to when my husband and I moved into the home, both the oven and dishwasher were broken, specifically with the dishwasher beyond repair because it was so calcified from years of neglect from the previous owners. If the inspector had opened the dishwasher to inspect the appliance, they would have seen that the dishwasher was not operable in its current condition or could have listed in the report that we seek a second opinion from an appliance technician.
Our real estate agent confirmed our suspicions that the inspector had not opened the dishwasher during their inspection and only started a cycle on the dishwasher door to see if water ran. After our home warranty determined they would not cover the dishwasher, they suggested we reach out to the company that conducted the home inspection to see why the dishwasher and oven were listed as operable.
Coastal Inspection Services owner, Jeff Kirkpatrick, picked up my call after I received an email from him with only excuses as to why his inspectors failed to catch the errors during their inspection of the home. Jeff immediately started to berate me for calling, yelling at me that "I had an agenda" and told me to screw off and never call back.
I have never dealt with someone so unprofessional before and my issue with the company is still unresolved. I have requested a refund of the $700 and have failed to see a resolution. The business manager, Nicole, was supposed to give me a call back after I told her how my conversation with Jeff went and never heard back.
