Buyer Beware! I saw a video for Coal Cosmetic Moisturizer online. The results were dramatic and there was a link to click through to order your "free" trial. Once the order for the moisturizer is placed, the opportunity for a "free" trial of the Coal Cosmetic Eye Serum is offered. There is only a shipping charge for the product so I ordered the second product and paid less than $10 in shipping charges.
I received the product and immediately began using it. While good, it was no better than my regular product and while I know results vary, they were not dramatic enough to warrant ordering any more of the product.
One month after receiving the product, there was an unrecognized charge of $86.96 on my credit card. Tracking it down led back to Coal Cosmetic. Of course, I had not received any additional product nor had I ordered anything else.
In calling the company, I was told that the "free" trial is for a limited time and that if you don't call and cancel your "Subscription" within 14 days, you will be charged the retail amount for the products and you are enrolled in the monthly subscription service. So technically, you are paying for the product originally received in the "free" trial.
This information is buried in the Terms and Conditions. There is nothing on the website to indicate the fact that you must cancel or you will be charged NOR does it say that you will automatically be enrolled in the subscription service. I immediately cancelled any further orders and terminated the authorization to charge anything further on my credit card.
SO - Buyer Beware - Read the fine print. AND - the product is not all that. I would not recommend it.
Free trial is a scam i don't know how they got my credit card number but if you accidentally click on any of their free trial icons you're automatically agreeing to a monthly subscription to be charged $89+ and sent their product the enclosed bill will show 0 cost but when you get your credit card statement the $89.+ will be on it twice. I'm on a fixed income. I can't afford it!
Coal cosmetics is the usual rip-off scam ... order now pay only shipping $4.95 shipping and handeling. They will automatically charge your credit card $89.99 for the eye serum which is an outragious price and the same for the face moisterizer. Some were on the website is says that you have to cancel within 14 days but it sure was not to be found on the main page... somewere in the super fine print is were this is written.
BEWARE!! they do NOT have a return policy the only thing you can do is cancel your order. The customer service number is 1-800-958-5410 and they will try for you to stay with them by offering a discount. Unfortunatly you have to get a bit rude with the person on the other side as they will not take no for an answer and will just give you the same answer over and over.. we do not have a return policy. I was ripped off in the amount off $180.00
Dumb on my part to fall for such a scam. They advertise as seen on Dr. Oz
I ordered a trail promotion coal moisturizer and coal eye serum pallet. The ad started that all i would pay, is for shipping and handling. The total was $10.00. They charged my credit card $89.69.
Coal cosmetics, free limited time, no such animal. Hidden in terms is auto refill. I got a rash from the "free" shipment. No idea that more was being sent. Received eye serum today. Took forever to find a phone #. All the adds gave emails that were bogus.
Found this site and a phone number 1 800- 958-5410.
I called and talked to "Max" (most likely India) Much to my surprise I had 3 total charges, yet I got no other products but the eye serum that came today.
I was given 3 confirmation numbers and told a refund is coming along for all 3 charges. I will be sent an email stating the account is closed, I was also told. I found the charges on my account and interesting enough 3 different phone numbers. I have contacted the bank and have a lawyer if necessary. One big headache. Beware.
Free trial !I I should have known better. Stupid me sent for free trial also, I was aware of the 4.95 shipping charge but not aware they would start charging for additional money without my permission. There is no name or phone # on the order when you recieve it had no idea for almost 2 months that they were charging my credit card. Thank God for the Credit card company they have helped a great deal and are handeling the manner for me. I will never do that again. I feel so stupid
I was also taken by them. Was paying $4.95 for a trial size. Did not want the rush shipping, told him I could wait, but no, an extra $1.49 was also charged. A few days later, I checked my account on line, there it was...another charge for $89.69. Talk about a rip off. Nothing was ever mentioned about auto shipments. Called my credit card company right off, then they took care of it. Hopefully this will be the last I hear of them.
Got this offer on my mobile phone! then free offer for a reasonable amount. No commitments, just pay S/H and give it a try! Bam, then I just saw my statement and I I am being charged $86.96 and got a jar this AM ??????? Really!!!
Ordered a trial and received it with no way to stop future shipments. Packing slip has no info on it and cannot find any info on internet. No name, no phone number, no address. Am going to try and contact credit card company.
Ordered the free sample and the s/h charges. The order tried to sell other items I did not order wny else. I also requested guaranteed delivery for 1.99. thus charges should have been 4.95 + 1.99 wrong. i RECEIPT A CONFIRMATION OF THE ORDER. the order reflects a sharge or $ 9.95
I called immediately and asked what the extra charge was for. The customer service apologized she could not figure out whever it came from.
I received another shipping confirmatiothis AM and saw it was for eye serum I never ordered and the skin serum. I called and received a canceling of the order. the idiot rold me to return the eye serum. I am not paying for shipping anything back.I received an mmail cancelling the eye serum. Why cancel something i never ordered?
To make things worse I reviewed my account. It showed 4 items charged to me. two were okay the other two ae stolen. from me.
One each for the $4.95 then another or the 1.99.
I was charged an additional 4.99 and now I have a pending charge of 19.93!! to Empowered. They are difficult to contact and I have tried to reach a live person they usually call back the waiting call. I doubt they will today.
THey convinced Shark TANK to buy into these thieves. I am having the hold stopped on my account. when done venting.
Off line to call my banking account to file the complaint.
So, I saw an ad on Facebook for a "free" trial offer for Coal Cosmetic. Free. Free.Free. They lie, lie, lie. You're suppose to pay ONLY $4.95 for shipping. No auto enroll, they said. Lies, Lies, Lies.
All the sudden the other day, I receive a box. It's a jar of the Coal Cossmetic moisturizer. The packing slip was comical. They don't tell you who it's from, where they are, how much they just sucked out of your bank account or a phone number to call them. It's like the d**n box appeared from the black abyss. First off, I would NEVER one ounce of any mooisturizer for $89.95!!! I can have a freaking treatment at a spa for that!
When I found a number, I called and they said they would not refund my money. They would lower the price of my next order (what next order, I didn't order this order). Um, nope, that is not acceptable. I will not make a next order. I told them to cancel whatever enrollment they have for me, you know, the one I didn't sign up for? I demanded a refund. He said "we don't do that". Huh? WTF. Let me talk to someone who has the authority to refund my dang $89.95". Everyone I speak to gives me the same crap.
After 15 minutes of being passed around, getting snarkier and snarkier, I finally yelled the person on the phone, who then sent me to another person that I yelled out etc, etc, etc...until someone gets on the phone and says "how can I help you?"
Once again, I demanded my money back. They said they have to keep me enrolled for one more month then they will cancel. I said, "do you want me to yell at you too?" EVERY one I talked to gave me the same s**t over and over. So finally, I said that I just sent a message to my bank to dispute any charges from them ever, and if, in one month I get another little bottle, I will consider it a free gift. I said my bank is now on their job, and if they won't refund the money to me, they will refund it to my bank. They then told me to send my little jar back. I said not until I get my money. He said "we give you discount next month."
Whatever you do, don't order anything from them. They lie and then you have to spend hours on the phone being passed around for nothing. Just call your bank and dispute and go from there. Oh, and the free trial was crap, it didn't do anything that my regular moisturizer doesn't do. I pay $8.99 for that!
When typing in lux derma the link directs you to coal cosmetics and its posing as a company that it is not. False advertising and prompts you to buy the incorrect product! link must be deleted!
