  • Dec 14, 2015

About 3 weeks ago I saw, what I thought was, a news report from the Daily Mail or maybe Globe and Mail (I can't quite remember which one). It was a news article entitled "Canadians getting the Apple iPhone for $1" (or something similar). Because I thought it was a news site, I assumed the ad was actually legitimate. Anyway, I proceeded to sign up to get my iPhone 6s from Apple. All I needed to do was pay for the $1.99 shipping. I should've known it was too good to be true.

There was no mention of ClubWhiteSmile anywhere, or their terms and conditions, otherwise I assure you that I would've read them and would not have proceeded any further. Now, skip ahead to about 3 weeks later... my husband is balancing our bank statements the other day and sees 2 mysterious charges on our Visa. There's one for $1.99 on Nov.25, and one for $119.00 on Nov.28, both from ClubWhiteSmile, who neither of us have heard of. My husband contacts the bank, and the Bank looks up ClubWhiteSmile. They inform him that "the charges would be related to a free product offer for a smartphone that was accepted."

That's when I recall the FREE iPhone offer, and mention it to my husband. The banker goes on to say, "In the terms of the offer, the merchant states that you are being signed up for a three-day trial for ClubWhiteSmile and that if you do not cancel, you are billed for a membership at $119.00 and this is subject to automatic renewal. If you accepted the phone offer, we have no right to intervene. The merchant request for payment is valid because you authorized continual payments for an ongoing service that you made no effort to cancel." So, even though I signed up for something that I had no idea I was signing up for, as there were no terms and conditions of that contract to view, and the name of the company was even fake, I was still expected to cancel a contract that I wasn't even aware that I had. So far, Visa hasn't been very co-operative in reversing the charges.

Since finding out about ClubWhiteSmile, I have gone to their website and reviewed their terms and conditions. They have never sent me the iPhone or 'welcome gift', nor did they send this 'welcome email' that they mention. If you don't receive the 'welcome email', a person is not aware that they are signed up for anything or can access their site, so therefore they do not have the opportunity to cancel any subscription (how convenient for them!).

In their terms and conditions, it states "by registering with ClubWhiteSmile, you TYPICALLY receive a welcome gift. In order to ensure you receive this, please follow the instructions that come in the welcome e-mail. The welcome gift will not be sent automatically to prevent wrong deliveries and fraud. Therefore, you must confirm your information online on our website if you want to receive the welcome gift. If you cancel your trial subscription within 1 day or if we are NOT able to charge the credit card, the welcome gift will not be shipped. Now they are saying you "TYPICALLY receive a welcome gift". But, you have to follow the instructions in the email... the same email that they WON'T send you. So, the gift won't be automatically sent unless you confirm your information online, but they won't send you the email in order to do this.

They also say in their terms in conditions the following: "If you wish to use your right of withdrawal you should contact our customer service immediately after your purchase by phone (+1 6133663413) to inform that you wish to withdraw your purchase. You will hereafter have your subscription cancelled and a form will be sent to you, which you must fill out and return. Since you have entered into an agreement on a subscription, you only have a right of withdrawal when the agreement is entered into, and NOT in relation to the on-going payment." So, does this mean they will cancel your subscription, but they will still keep taking your money??!!!

Anyway, they must've forgot that WE have laws and rules in Alberta, Canada too because I have rights and I am getting MY money back from these CROOKS!!!! We have the Province of Alberta FAIR TRADING ACT - Internet Sales Contract Regulation. It states that I have a right to cancel my contract if the supplier does not provide me with the appropriate information (i.e. copy of the contract, etc.). I also have a right to have my money refunded, so we'll see who will win in the end. ;-) I am going to fight this.

The Crooks should pay

We just found out that my husband did the same thing. He received an offer on his cell phone about the $1.99 offer from Apple. (Or he assumed it was from Apple) He proceeded and completed to fill out the form and added his Visa account ... the offer did not state or imply anything about a contract or the 3 day trail for ClubWhiteSmile... otherwise he would NOT have even signed up for the offer... We know better, if its too good to be true... it usually is too good to be true.

Now we can't get our charges reversed... and shame on us that we did not notice until $1.99 + $119 + $119 + $119 later was processed thru our Visa. !!!

I am very depressed now trying to get this fixed for my husband.

We have sent the cancel membership email as directed to do so by Visa... for a subscription we never signed up for in the first place... so we hope this will stop those charges. As well, we have cancelled our Visa. The Visa company cannot do anything for us, and I asked them, if they knew about this (because when I called about the unauthorized charges) they knew exactly what I was talking about before I even mentioned ClubWhiteSmile.!

So why is Visa in business with SCAMMERS ! and CROOKS ! that needs to be answered as well. Because they seem to know it as well. !

I'm calling Better Business Bureau and CTV and CBC about this... hopefully no one else will be taken in the "to good to be true" offers !

Good luck to others out there, I hope you get your hard earned money back !

Exact same review

I feel like a "deja vu" all over again. Everything you said in your review is pretty much exactly what happened to me. The just responded to me after well over 2 months of e-mails and several phone calls and they say it's because you signed up with us... no other explanation! When asked to provide the original e-mail confirmation: nothing. When asked to provide the iphone link, they finally sent one after 2 months http://campaigns.clubwhitesmile.com/splash.php?sid=4&rid=1798&cid=82. Little research shows this link was JUST recently created.to pretend they're completely "legit" with their terms and condition. I ask them if I can at least get the equivalent of the same product value for which I've been scammed, nothing. No answer. Not even sure they sell anything at all for all I know! Which human being really signed up on this link knowing full well there's a 119$ monthly fee right below for whitening products? Who the hell spends that much on a monthly basis? Really? Banks and credit card companies are given this company on a silver platter and they completely wash their hands being fooled that it's a legit company... Unbelievable! I'm giving you a fraud and a crook point blank range and they say you should've known better. Banks and credit card companies are probably in on it for all I know.

Makes me think if I can start a same scam or company (excuse me) with the exact same terms and condition but for renewing adult toys shipped to you every month.

Seriously, good luck with that.

My husband seen an ad on facebook about buying an Iphone 7 for $1.99 so he tried it. He doesn't remember what email if any that he used. I contacted the company and they won't help me at all. they keep running me in circles. I just want to know the email so i cancel the account and get my money back. They took $119 off of my visa debit twice and now I am really mad.

I had unsubscribe from the web page at the same day. The merchant did not response and continued to charge my Visa card every month. I have to cancel all my cards now. However the visa s/c would not proceed the dispute unless I get the cancelation confirmed from the merchant.

  • Nov 24, 2015

I went onto a website that provided information about an Iphone 6.

It advised I could win the Iphone 6 if I paid 1.99. I started to enter my credit card information but thought better of it and closed down the website before submitting my information to the company.

However, Club White Smile was still able to access my credit card information and make charges to a subscription I was not aware of. I never saw there website on the Iphone6 website nor did even know what Club White Smile was until I saw the charges on my credit card.

I have tried to explain this to the customer service representative but they refuse to listen, hang up on me and will not address my concerns.

I have been in contact with other Club White Smiles in France and Russia and they are aware of this company and it`s tactics in eliciting payments from unsuspecting customers.

They realize this Club White Smile in Denmark is scamming people and getting away with it. They have ripped me off and I am doing what I can to stop them from doing the same to others.

Carol,we called our Walmart Mastercard about this charge and we were given the email address and phone number to contact this bogus company, they do not answer their phone. I received and email ad for an iphone 7 for $1.00 from several sources. each was advertizing the same thing. When I filled out the form with my credit card info, they used this info to bill me $119.00. I never received anything. When i was filling out the info,as soon as I realized they wanted a monthly payment, I deleted all my info. As I recall,I felt this was still in my control. I had applied to the ad through our radio station ad and thought it was safe. I expect a complete refund immediately and will report this to the stationand the Better Business Bureau immediately and will cancel this credit card.

  • Jan 7, 2016

  • Jan 6, 2016

I just received my credit card statement and noticed 2 charges from ClubWhiteSmile in Frederiksberg

I didn't recognize the charges so called my credit card company.

They cancelled my card and told me to contact these people - I don't know how to do that so I'm doing this.

  • Jan 5, 2016

At first I just complain to my credit card statement coz never order or sign up membership like this ClubWhiteSmileand NH systems Aps Frederiksberg. I was told that what did you order or pay with that 1.99 I said an Iphone promo with limited time left and hoping to get that that's all. Never heard this company until I received my credit card statement. Never even have interest in any expensive items coz I am jobless. Please I just want my money back total 238.00. Thanks

  • Jan 4, 2016

I clicked on a link on my cell phone that was promoting a program to test the new iphone 7 and provide feed back on the promotion. An iphone 6 was to be provided free or charge for concideration in the perticipation of the program. All they required was some personal information and a credit card number for the delivery of the iphone 6 which was to be charged at 1.99 cents.

I saw the charge for $1.99 and 3 days later I saw a charge for $119.00 which reflected a Cosmetic purchase under Club White Smile.

My credit card company has reversed the charge pending an investigation, however i see that this is a reaccouring monthly charge. I will likely cancel the card with a replacement.

  • Dec 30, 2015

I am very upset, today I noticed the amount of $119.00 taken from my Credit card. I am a senior and cannot afford to have money stolen from me. This company "WhiteClubSmileFrederiksbergDNK" I have a brother who is a dentist and takes good care of my teeth so why would I need to order this product from an unknown company?

I did not order this on a credit card, and how they managed to get into my account in a mystery to me.

  • Dec 29, 2015

I was told I could receive a iPhone 6S for just $1.99 and it will be sent to me in about three weeks. Once they got the $1.99, they charged me $119.00 and I never received the iPhone.

  • Dec 26, 2015

Like those others filing reports on this "company" I also got sucked into trying to win an Iphone. Paid the $1.99 and three days later there's an unauthorized charge of $199 on my credit card. And no way to contact ClubWhiteSmile. Anyone having an luck finding this crook, or know how to get our money back?

  • Dec 25, 2015

When I turned on my desktop with Windows 10,and then Google jump in with a offer $1.99 for a iPhone 6 plus. I ordered one on 11/26/15.

But my bill:Transaction date 11/26/15 is $1.99

Transaction date 11/29/15 is $119.00

I did nothing on 11/29/15...why can they get money from my Mastercard.

  • Dec 24, 2015

Recieved my Mastercard statement and discovered two charges for $1.99 and $119.00 three days apart in November. Phoned MC and they advised that this was a charge for a internet scam for an iPhone. I was told they could do nothing about reversing the charges.

I remember seeing the email and started to fill out the form but did not complete by clicking on 'join.' I also did not give the security code to my card which is strange that they would be able to charge my account unless they have some sort of generation program. I was told to contact 1-613-669-5594 which is a number in Ontario and probably routed outside the country.

  • Dec 24, 2015

See abovementioned

  • Dec 21, 2015

On November 27.2015 I ordered a free Iphone 6 from Club White Smile but had to pay $1.99 for shipping. Three days later, November 30.2015 my credit card was charged $119.00 and I have yet to receive any product from Club White Smile.

I am unable to contact Club White Smile, as I cannot find any contact information for them.

  • Dec 17, 2015

I'm getting depressed thinking how i got ripped off by scammers. I have totally no idea about CLUB WHITE SMILE until suddenly i saw the name on my capital one credit card bill! i was on rogers website, filled out a form for the offer not knowing that it has led me to another company! called capital one and found out that they know about these scams but i think they're not that helpful, they just let me think that it was my fault and i'm getting extremely depressed!

  • Dec 17, 2015

I were asked to complete a Videotron survey about one month ago and in return I will receive an iPhone 6s plus as a gift which they had a limited amount of. I thought it was legit since that I had just take back my Videotron services. I never sign up to subscribe with a Clubwhitesmile.com for anything. Today I check my credit card statement and observe the unusual transaction. My credit card company agent gave me the email [email protected] to request that I be unsubscribe and refunded . I receive a respond saying that I will receive answers to my questions in 24-48 hours and I can go to clubwhitesmile.com to unsubscribe which I tried but found out this it is not a website that is relative to this services.

  • Dec 16, 2015

  • Dec 11, 2015

In my case, it started with a text message stating "Reward You have been selected! Receive a Samsung Galaxy Edge just for 1$. Click here: http://jiij.co/samsung.html"

The link redirects to http://campaigns.clubwhitesmile.com/splash.php?sid=5&rid=1801&cid=142

On that page, there is a large heading. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, a large photo of the phone and a bubble stating "Pay Only $1.99".

But at the bottom of the screen, it states that anyone who signs up receives an MP player (of unknown description) and one person will win the S6.

Scrolling to the bottom of the page, in fine print, is: "*The sign-up includes a 3 day membership at ClubWhiteSmile.com for $1.99, which can be cancelled. The membership continues as a monthly subscription if it is not cancelled within the first 3 days, cf.

the conditions. The membership costs $119, and will be charged in advance on a monthly basis via credit card"

In addition, there is a check box, with "I certify that I am 18 years or older & accept the terms & conditions Read more". When the "read more" link works, it provides all the details, including:

- a product will be sent to you each month. This may be a toothbrush, whitening strips, etc.

- charges of $119 per month until cancelled, and

- it may take days to cancel.

So this is indeed a SCAM, although it technically is following the letter of the Danish law.

  • Dec 10, 2015

Club white smile went into my bank account without my permission and took $119. I have tried countless times to reach them and always get the same info. They tell me they have taken me off their mail list and someone will contact me about getting my money back via email. When I ask to speak to a supervisor they hang up on me. $119 doesn't seem like a lot of money but it is the principal of the matter and the fact that I didn't give permission. I thought I was getting an iPhone for $1.99 and filled out some info including my bank card number. When I realized how ridiculous it was I closed it off thinking that would stop it but I was wrong because they took the $1.99 and the $119.00 and I'm left with nothing but a sense of stupidity.

  • Dec 10, 2015

I completed what appeared to be a legitimate online survey, for which the 'prize' was an I-Phone 6, for the cost of postage of $1.99. After sending my credit card information for the postage, I found a charge of $119.00 on my credit card bill. This is obviously a scam, and needs to be dealt with. These people are thieves.

  • Dec 9, 2015

So, this club white company offered a survey online to win an iPhone and only charged an amount of $1.99. some days later they charged my credit card for an amount of $199 this is absurd, considering the fact that they did not even sent me any iphone, although i am currently not interested in it anymore seeing how much of rip-off's and fraudsters they are. I just need my money back.

  • Dec 9, 2015

On facebook I signed up for a free IPhone 6. The company said for shipping it would be 1.99 which I agreed to, then I recieved a statement from my credit card for 1.99 and another for 119.99 and never received the Iphone. I am concerned that they may continue to add charges to my credit card.

  • Dec 7, 2015

While payng my fuel bill for my vehicles online, a popup surfaced that lead me to believe that the survey that I would be responding to was a legitamate part of the website I was using and trusting at the time. It came to pass that I noticed the illegitimate charge to my credit card from a company that I did not have any dealings with. That company being clubwhitesmile. I took the survey for an I phone 6 that I was convinced that my fuel company was promoting and later turned out to be not the case. I have called my credit card company and they advised me to get in contact with the company and get a refund. The clubwhite smile lists numbers that do not respond to your calls as well as their email addresses. This is by all means a total misrepresentation of product and services and has to be against the law (fraud and theft). I would gladly travel across the country to bear witness against these low lifes and I hope others would do the same.

  • Dec 5, 2015

I ordered a cell phone for $1.99 and authorized them to charge $1.99 to my masterCard. I was informed that they then charged $119.00 to my mastercard which I did not authorize and I have received nothing from this company in any form. I refuse to pay this $119.00 as it was not authorized.

  • Dec 5, 2015

  • Nov 26, 2015

So incase you havent heard of club white smile yet... pray you dont. The use fake promos for 1.99 iphone, which of course you will never receive, they get the 1.99 as proof you joined them and then charge you 119 or 199 bucks 3 days later. Good luck trying to get your money back

The site is fake, the link is fake, and by the time you realise and go to cancel your "3 day window" is up.. Its a clever clever scam. All you can do is cancel your credit card

If you google the firm you can see numerous writeups about them. The screen going blank etc so you dont know what is going on. I didnot even hit send, just tried repeatedly to close the window, finally did with alt cntrl delete. yet they managed to get my credit card info

I called visa once the charge appeared and the chap knew exactly what happened. Which begs the question why visa continues to process the charges!

If you are a victim I enourage you to contact the RCMP Scambusters, contact the consumer protection people in your province--http://www.consumerinformation.ca/eic/site/032.nsf/eng/01173.html

Also report to the attorney general and ministry of consumer affairs in your province. Let Visa know. Also I would recommend as many people as possilbe contact the CBC and CTV or other media that write about these scams that will at least help stop it, and perhaps get VISA and law enforcement to act

http://www.cbc.ca/news/gopublic

http://www.goldhawk.com/

They are registered in Demark but appear to be operating out of Canada. Their website has as 613 area code
