I responded to a website that was selling French Bulldog Puppies. I was emailing the seller and we exchanged over 27 emails through out the course of the transaction. I said that I was concerned that this was not legitimate and was worried about the whole process. The person I was communicating with was named Junior Ray. He assured me through the whole process that everything would be fine. The cost of the puppy was $550 and the cost to Ship was $130. He had me Zelle him the $500 on Wednesday 11/15 as that was the maximum I could Zelle per day.
The puppy was to be shipped on 11/16. I was to send him the remaining $180 when I received confirmation that the puppy was at the shippers. I received and email that the puppy was there and would be receiving her by 7:20 that night. I sent the remaining $180 and waiting for more updates from the shipper. I called the shipper and was treated rudely by the men on the phone. Later I received another email from the shipper stating I needed to rent a heated crate for the puppy to travel in for an additional $920 that would be refunded to me once the puppy was delivered and I returned the crate to the delivery person.
I refused this and called the seller. I told him this was his shipping company and if he did business with them that he should pay it and he would get the deposit. I told him I did not have that money and could not pay for it. He texted me back saying he would take the $680 I had paid him if I could send the additional $240 and when I received the deposit back I could send him back the $680. I did and then all communication stopped. I texted, I called, I emailed both the shipping company and the seller. I have had no return communication and obviously do not have a puppy. I contacted this seller on 11/9/2018. Agreed to purchase a puppy named Terry, sent $500 on 11/10/2018 and $180 on 11/11/2018 through Zelle. Seller was to ship on 11/12/2018.
I requested tracking information for Terry and the seller said he was on his way to the airport and would provide this information by 1:30 PM on 11/12/2018. I never heard back from him. I contacted the seller under a different email address and requested if Terry was available and the response was yes. True scam!!!
