In Feb 2016 I sent Bob Waller my 1936 Dodge trunk emblem and an early Packard hood ornament for restoration. He invoiced me for the Packard hood ornament, which I paid through PayPal the same day. Now, he will not answer my phone calls and will not respond to my emails and certified mail requests to return my property to me. It is now August 27, 2017 and I still do not have my parts! In my opinion, Bob Waller is a liar and a thief!
Do not contract Bob Waller or Classic Auto Service to perform any work under any circumstances!
Many complaints against Bob are available on the Web, and I can confirm all of them.
My dealings with Bob started out very friendly. Bob is a personable guy with a decent story to tell and some nice examples of the product and restoration results he will claim to be able to provide. He comes across as enthusiastic and will occasionally, though rarely and only under threat of legal action, post 'some' results. But the work will never be complete. It's all a con designed to keep you engaged so he can spin a sob story and bill you for more fictitious work.
Bob will set commitments and dates he has no intention nor ability to keep. He makes claims of progress that are pure fabrication and will bill you for work that has not begun, let alone been completed. The only services he is highly proactive on are billing and making excuses. He will not hesitate to bill you, though for what I can't explain. If questioned or pressed for actual status, he will stall citing family commitments, health woes, trajic accidents, or other setbacks. The man has more excuses than a heroin addict looking for a fix.
The only possible conclusions I can draw about Bob are that he is billing for fictitious work to fund his daily life, making him a pure con-man and a thief, or that he is just so bad at business that he has overextended on jobs that he has to steal from another customer in an attempt to satisfy another. He is either dilusional, or criminal.
