INVESTORS BE CAREFUL HERE… My mother and I invested $223,000 in a shopping center development project in Riverside California in December, 2014. We invested the money as 1yr loan and were promised repayment on or before December 15, 2015. The investment was structured as a 1yr guaranteed note at 12% interest and penalty fees and was arranged by two Los Angeles based loan brokers for City National Financial. We have not received a single penny of the returns promised, nor have we received any of the $223,000 originally invested. The loan brokers are Edward Rostomian (a.k.a. Edward Rostomi), Jimmy Dawood and Christian Armani. Since December 2014, they have refused to return numerous phone calls or reply to certified letters. We have retained legal counsel to try to recover our investment. We have learned that neither Rostomi, Dawood or Armani are licensed to structure guaranteed notes or loans in the state of California. We also discovered that Edward Rostomi also went to prison in 2002 for defrauding a 77 year old woman in Malibu out of her home. We want to warn others from being taken advantage of.
