As a "valuable customer", Walgreens sends me e-mails with special deals. One e'mail was get a free gift valued up to $100. I selected Citratone, only to pay $4.95 shipping. The website offered more products for just shipping fees. This was on February 10, 2016. I got an e-mail shortly after that the Citratone and Clarity Eye Treatment(which I did NOT order) was confirmed The next day, I had four small amounts taken from my bank account from three different companies totaling $8.90.
I received these products on February 18. All that was inclosed was a packing slip. There was no company listed. On the box there was only an address from ST. Petersburg, Florida. No company name. Today, February 25th, there were two charges on my bank account, one for $94.94 and one for $89.99. One entry included a phone number so I called it. I asked what these charges were and the woman told me it was my monthly subscription free for the "beauty products". I told her I did NOT have a subscription and told her I'd send the products back and to remove these charges immediately. She said she could cancel this subscription but I had a two week free trial and didn't call before this was up so she couldn't refund these charges!!
I was furious. I told her that the creams weren't even packed until February 11th so if this was the case today was the 14th day of this imaginary subscription. She hung up on me. I called right back and after a long hold, I was finally answered. Neither of these people would tell me what company I was calling. AND it was a California number. This man informed me that my 14 day free trial started the day I placed the order as they can't control how long it takes for a package to be delivered. I said that was complete false advertising as I only had the products for 7 days. He said he couldn't help me and I was the one at fault because I "chose" to continue my subscription by not canceling within 14 days.
NOWHERE did I read I joined a subscription. I sadly trusted Walgreens(not their fault) thinking it was from Walgreens and not numerous third party advertisers. I've no idea whom to contact as there are several companies names and three different states involved in this scam.
