Oh my my my, where to start with Christopher Clegg? Chris "Guy" Clegg has a fascinating journey of trials and triumphs going back nearly a decade. Anything from lead generation, marketing services, crypto consultant, or an international business developer- well, he calls himself whatever fits at the time.
I'm completely surprised he hasn't changed his legal name yet due to the insane amount of accusations against him. 8 years ago I first spoke to Chris Clegg, I was in Jacksonville, FL, he was in St. Pete. I invited our company CEO onto the call with Clegg and- YES, he was convincing. We spoke about him for a day or two. Can this guy really give us the leads we want? He can talk the game, but... there's just a bit of sketchy-ness going on here. We had a hunch. We decided against his demand of a $5k deposit.
Four years later I moved cities, had a child, started a business along with a business partner. At a comical level you could only hear in sitcoms, my new business partner told me a story about a "Chris" from St Pete, who scammed him out of 25 grand for a turnkey "credit repair business". Clegg gave my biz partner a laptop, a low budget Acer worth around $800 at the time, and called it a day.
I find it sadly hilarious that Clegg scammed my future business partner around the same time he tried to scam our agency five years prior. I guess Florida is a small world. But Clegg is all over Florida as long as he isn't in jail (and the most recent mugshot, I believe he's in state custody).
Chris Clegg Tips: he sounds very young, like a 12 year old. He promises the world but delivered well. He has client testimonials which he will provide (he doesn't).
Chris is smart and could use his skills and actually make money without facing criminal charges from the state. But it seems like he'll never learn- it's been nearly 10 years of grifting and scamming and fraud.
Stay far away from this guy, kid, whatever. And to Chris, I must say: get your crap together. I just had a daughter and I know you have one as well. Think of your kid, bro.
I bought a business from Chris a little over a year go. Per his promise it was ready to go and I would be turned over and up and running within 24 hours. He demonstrated the website, it had a chatbot, google ad words attached to it, etc. After I paid the money to purchase the website, excuse after excuse started. His Aunt had Corona Virus, back when it first started, was the first of many excuses.
The website he sold to me he let expire for some reason then stoodup a similar named one claiming the name doesn't matter. In the end it doesn't matter, I was not given the website I purchased. The new website was never turned over, never had chat bot setup. He never mailed the laptop he promised that was already setup and ready to go with his systems and processes.
The biggest thing is I asked for his first and last name up front so I could do an internet search, I should have listened to my gut. He told me his first name was "Chris" and his last name was "Guy". I even have 2 seperate text messages with wiring instructions showing his name as Chris Guy. It turns out his middle name is Guy, he never gave me the last name of Clegg because he knows his name is trash. I believe he has about 15-20 negative reviews on riffoff report alone.
I am currently working with a detective and two other scammed individuals to make sure this GUY goes to jail. A report was filed with the Attorney General of Florida and a police report is in the works.
