I got a call from them and they said I would be paying $29.97 a month but when I looked at my bank statement they were taking $79.90 a month. I live on a monthly income and I can't afford this with my other expenses. So I called them and aked to cancel my subscription and they said it would cost me $200 to do so. No way was I going to so I talked to my bank and they said to cancel my credit card. My bank said they have no right to ask me to pay to cancel my subscription.
First, a woman called and woke me up. I was alittle groggy from that as well as being on pain meds(ie morphine, norco baclofen and lyrica etc) I could tell because they recorded it. At first I was to receive something for free, just needed to pay for shipping. That's how they got my credit card number. She then proceeded to offer me other things for which I declined. When she got to the magazines, I have already been getting all different kinds of them and she informed me that it was them. I told her the ones that I really wanted instead of what I was getting. She then proceeded to offer me other things for and quickly spokeabout a certain amount for 30 months totaling $1199 , and kept going.
I had to stop her after approximately10 seconds and say wait a minute. Now, in the recording, you can tell it took me a bit to catch up with her. I didn't want to go with this, but she informed me that all I needed to do is call and cancel in a few days. I did call to cancel, and that's when I was told it was too late, I was under a recorded contract to make these payments for 30 months. I called back later and finally got a manager of sorts and she tried telling me I could cancel but would have to pay to do so. I spoke with a Lawyer and my bank manager and both said that this was illegal and I was to cancel my bank card and get a new one. This was so they would be unable to debit from my accounts.
