Annabel Murray was hired as our custody evaluator for our divorce case because of accusations of neglect by the children’s mother in the custody case. There were many issues the children had under the mother’s care, including using Craig’s List to find last minute baby sisters (that she never met) and leaving the children in other people’s care for days while she “enjoyed” her life. As the father, I would loss contact of the children during this time. Even her own mother talked to Annabel about how bad her daughter was with the care of the children, Annabel decided not to include any of that to her report to the court. Without any investigation beyond “hear” each of the parent’s side, Annabel decided that the children needed their mother and simply recommended to the court for joint custody.
I gave her the names of five witnesses to talk to, Annabel talked to none of them. She decided the children’s best interest without ever taking a look into the complaints. She ran up a huge bill filling cookie cutter reports to the court without earning any of it. Unethical rip off. Years after Annabel’s “service” things got so bad with the mother’s neglect turned abuse towards the children that it eventually escalated to an abuse case with Hawaii’s Child Welfare Services. Ultimately, the children were put in my sole custody. We are still dealing with the psychological aftermath of years of abuse thanks to Annabel’s quick assessment without any facts, investigation, or any which lead to years of pain and a year of an extremely painful CWS investigation and intervention.
Annabel, next time you are paid to provide a service, do your job! Children do not have a voice of their own in custody court and depend on people like you to help them. My children were harmed, and it could have been worse. I wish I could sue you to put you out of business so that you were not able to harm other children.
