Do not fall for any of Larry Hoffman’s countless websites- you can’t afford to save that much, I promise. If you receive a small percentage of your order after several months of begging- you are one of the lucky few. Most receive nothing. We ordered 300 chairs with carts from him totaling $7800 and several months have passed with more lies and games than I can count. Larry gives fake shipping info and strings you along with lie after lie of why they haven’t shipped. Larry has cost us so many wasted hours dealing with this mess, we have spent a ton of money to rent chairs to cover the order that never came that was "in stock” and supposed to ship the next day after payment cleared. As we wasted so much time hoping he wasn’t complete scum - which we now know with certainty he is- he will no longer take our calls or respond to us when we demand a refund. In the beginning, when my colleague placed the order- I thought the Juno email address was odd, I thought the obvious fake mailing address was concerning but I never believed a person could be so dispickable! If he did right by us, we would have given him a lot of business. Come to find out he’s just a broker and you can order the chairs straight from any legit company much cheaper- save a few hundred or in our case several thousand. I wish I followed my instincts on this and looked him up first. The reviews don’t lie- but the good ones probably do. He hasn’t done an honest day of work in his life. Give us our money back Larry!! I haven’t yet begun to fight!
I needed to buy chairs and tables for a party supplies business. I don’t remember how I got in contact with him, but I am pretty sure that has contacted me first. At first, we spoke on the phone and I asked him for a quote. He told me that Stephanie or Dana will send me a quote. Afterward I knew that those people don’t exist.
We agreed finally on one quote. He told me to pay before November 1st because the government will add an additional tariff on all products coming from China. He told me to give a deposit. On October 31, i have him my bank routine number and my checking account number to take $1500 as a deposit.
He generated a check and made a wire transfer and took the money. He asked me to pay the difference so he can start the order. I gave him the same information about my account and he did the same exact process. I told me he would send me the shipping information soon. He never did and I asked him that I really need a delivery date because I need to plan with my shipping company that is going to take the chairs and tables to my country from Miami.
I gave him the address in Miami. That’s when I realized that he is not serious, he sent me a fake receipt from UPS and told me that they have a warehouse in Miami, they have a part of my stuff in Miami. The balance will come from Houston Texas where they have another warehouse.
I went and googled the business addresses that he gave me and none of them really exist. Now, he has my money, I have no products. On Saturday October 9th, I spoke to him and asked him to have my money back, he told me he would make a wire thansfer into my account this Monday.
Banks are closed today and I kept calling him, he did pick up the phone at all. I need help to get my money back.
In December 2016, I ordered a sample first which was delivered on time and was in an excellent condition. I then put in an order, paying $4,165.00 for 120 Chiavari Chairs to be delivered in a week, in time for my event. It's been over 6 months now, all lies. Larry Hoffman is a smooth talker and the biggest liar, he is a great con artist. After more research, I've found out that he has many websites, seems he pops new sites as soon as he's been figured out. He is a one man show. He'll also say it is his competitor that posts all these bad reviews to bash his company but that is a lie I am a real customer in Orlando. I hope this review helps to stop other hardworking people from getting conned by this man.
Be aware! larry hoffman, who sells tables and chairs And maybe other items) on line, is a liar, a scam artist and a jerk.
He promisied us chairs for our son's wedding in georgia in mid-october, 2016. We ordered tables and chairs from him in early september 2016. He offered a discount if we paid by check. He cashed the check and said he would process our order. As we got closer to the wedding date he assured us a truck was on the way/the tables and chairs were in memphis/we would get them on time! they never arrived. We had to rent tables and chairs at the last minute for the weddeing. Lucky we could find them.
Now we can't get a refund. Larry sent two checks. They both bounced. He promises a check is on the way. It never comes we have called and called. Sometimes he calls back and makes promises/excuses/etc. It goes on and on.
Do not use any company larry is part of. You will be throwing your money away and setting yourself up for a long process of frustration and angst dealing with lyin' larry.
Here are the numbers i have for lyin' larry--
1-800-295-5676; 1-818-510-3702; 1-818-605-5172; 1-310-274-4011; 1-818-981-2906
Read other Outscam entries. They all sound very familiar to me! i only wish we had read them before contacting lyin' larry.
Larry Hoffman is a complete liar. I ordered chiavari chairs from one of his several websites. I bought 2 samples at different times which both looked nice and one was delivered on time and the other took a bit to get but I got it which should have thrown red flags up. I liked the samples so I ordered 300 chiavari chairs in Febuarary 2016 which I paid $12,000 for these chairs. Larry said he would have them delivered in March but when the time came they werent delieverd and he was hard to get ahold of. I finally a month or more later got 90 chairs and over half were scratched. I only ended up getting 86 more that were also scratched badly. Long story short I never got the rest of my product and he stills owes me over $4,000 and new product from all the bad chairs. PLEASE SAVE YOUR SELF FROM HIM STEALING YOUR MONEY. Also he is a one man show and you can never talk to anyone else. He is a con artist. He will also say somone from anothetr company posts all these bad reviews to bash his company but that is a lie I am a real customer my business is Lasting Touch out of Michigan.
Wish I'd seen sooner!
I can't tell you how much I wish I'd seen these posts before I made the purchase. I am with a not-for-profit arts education program. We still haven't received a single chair and it's going on a month. He said he would rent chairs for us until our 100 chairs arrive. Now we have that catering/rental company asking for their money, since they can't seem to get ahold of Larry. We don't have enough for those rental chairs to authorize the transaction. I am livid, and enfuriated and just sick to my stomach. What kind of person does this? Absolutely despicable.
I am hoping to save you all from a scam, Larry Hoffman of Chiavari Chairs Direct/ Event Resources/ Folding-Chairs-Folding-Tables.com among other names and about 8 phone numbers (listed below). He will sell you event chairs or tables and then never make good on the deal. Or, in my case, he sent me 40 of my order of 200 chairs. Never event sent the cushions. It took me about 25 calls to even get the 40 chairs. I've turned this over to my company's lawyer as I can get no further with Larry. Maybe he does send some of his orders chairs but I'm fairly certain he is pulling this scam on a regular basis as he operates under several email, company names and phone numbers. He claims to have a Liz and Stephanie on staff, but I've never once reached them. Either way, don't risk spending your money with him or you may end up in my situation.
