The agency that calls themselves, the CHECK DIVERSION PROGRAM actually a debt collector. They process checks that have not cleared your bank (bounced checks) Yes i am the first to say its not good to bounce a check. It happens to all of use at one time or another. BUT, this agency that calls themselves the chck diversion program, claims they can have you arrested, put you in jail, have county prosecuters arest you and so on. They then send you a program class schedule for their check civersion program which will cost you $120 for the class, not to mention you have to drive to their location to take this bogus course. Keep in mind that no judge or court has orderede you to do this class. This check diversion program, claims that if you dont do their class they will have you arrested and sent to jail. Note that it does not matter to this agency that they have the wrong information or a mistake could have benn made by the bank or the buisness who received the check. In my case I accidetally wrote a check to wal mart for $388 on a bank account that hasent been used since 1985. So I went to walmart to pay the amount of the check. The customer service rep said I have no record of this check, Just wait until wal mart sends you a letter then send the money in. After six months I never heard from wal mart. Now out of the clear blue, This agency that calls them selfs check diversion of red wing mn sends me a letter saying i must take their course at $120 or they will have me arrested and sent to jail. Please note that wall mart has dropped their $30 check returnded fee. Thanks Wal Mart. Note that this check diversion program continues to demand $120 for a course I refused to take. Jim
