These bozos make nothing but garbage! You have been warned. We are in an "under water" loan for a so called "MODULAR" home purchased from a keen swindler masquarading as a Champion/Redman Homes Dealer in January 2010. The home was literally thrown together. Here are just a few issues never properly addressed that we must deal with: The air condition system was switched out with an incompatible evaporator coil by the swindler and her comrades, the duct work was poorly installed making different rooms feel colder and warmer than others and air blowing inconsistently. The roof leaks in the toilet and we use an umbrella when we use it when it rains outside. The drywall ceiling in the living room caved in this morning due to heavy rain leaking from another illusive leak that only leaks when the wind is right . The drywall ceiling is attached with GREAT STUFF, not screws! All this over a period of 8 years. Gutters overflow in heavy rain and backwash under the shingles because of poor roof and gutter pitch, allowing water to soak the wall insulation and cheap cardboard trim in the house. You'd have to be a dwarf to access the attic to find the illusive leaks that you can't find on the roof. The cheap cabinets are falling apart. Made out of pressed wood and fastened with staples. The roof has 2×2 trusses instead of 2×4. OSB attached with staples, not screws. Floors creaking, walls cracking. The place is falling apart. Vinyl flooring is cheap and thin, tearing very easily. Bathroom fixtures and cabinets falling apart, shower leaking. I could go on.
Dont allow the dealer to convince you that modular is the same as stick built homes. They are not accept for getting the sell. They are manufactured homes, one in the same. Real estate markets treat them as they should be treated; cheap garbage that will not hold up. Please do your homework and dont make this terrible mistake we made. Champion Homes Burleson will not stand behind what they have thrown together, either. Once you have been swindled, there is no recourse. Avoid manufactured homes and Champion Homes in particular!
