I moved into a rental called Soleil Chandler, AZ about 2 1/2 years ago. It was a condo and I purchased from a man that owned another unit in the small complex. The amount of rent was $850.00. About June of 2019 there was a foced buyout by a management company. My landlord kept me informed throughout the process.
Once the sale was complete the service for repairs went down hill. It was very bad service and unprofessional people. In December 2019 it was sold again to Chamberlin & Associates.
They gave me a notice on January 22, 2020 saying my rent would go up to $1400.00 per month with many other fees added and that payment date would be February 22, 2020.
I contacted an attorney. He said because I have signed nother with the new company, I was under the rules of the old lease. It is state in the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act (ARS) 33-1375.B.
In January they required us to get a money order to pay rent. I had purcased by money order for February rent as that was the last instructions I was given.
I did submit my notice on February 1, 2020. The agent refused my payment. She said they need to go through the company portal. I told her I didn't have it. She said she would would send it but she failed to email it to me. I did leave my notice to be out by March 1, 2020. I came back on February 3rd where I was met with about 7 to 8 people. Some had their money order to pay, other were questioning fees in the portal after they paid rent. It was around $45.00 with no explanation.
Then on February 7th I was served an eviction notice. It was saying I did not pay rent and now I had late fees and other other unknown fees. I had a reporter from Channel 13 coming. I showed it to him when he came. I went to the office after the TV interview. The leasing agent said it was because I did not list the apartment number on the money order. It was signed, address, dates to apply payment. They knew it was from me. Another harrassment.
Now, I am waiting to see if hey will TRY kick me out on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
