Challenge Day Reviews
After working behind the scenes for 4 years with the founders Rich and Yvonne St John Dutra, it seems that they use a lot of cult brianwashing techniques to run their organization. They seem to only care about being worshipped then they care about helping people and doing the right thing.
They only fill the board and their staff, many who have little talent or expertise in their roles, with people who are their friends and who agree with them. No wonder why they have so many disgruntled employees. They have even been sued by former employees. If Rich and Yvonne just walked away during the many opportunities they were asked to, the organization could have grown. But instead if was all about them and their narissistic egos.
They emotionally manipulate those around them.
If the board did the right thing, they would have not brought back Rich and Yvonne the first time they got ousted. The organization could have then found a talented Executive Director who would have easily fired their tech guy Rodrigo and their accountant-turned-manager Ana Rubio - who has no business in her position.
But don't take the word of someone who has been behind the scenes for years. Here are just some of the many articles calling Challenge Day out for being the cult that it is.

Just to give you a couple examples of their cult brainwashing:
One of the activities that happened during a Challenge Day training goes like this.
Walk around the circle and introduce yourself as your deepest childhood wound. "Hi..I'm Mike and I'm an as*hole whos' not worthy of love". and the other person would have to repeat it back to you and then do the same. This is a WORK ENVIRONMENT. There were no psychologists or therapists or aftercare. They just trigger everybody's deepest wounds, so they're completely emotionally vulnerable, and then they jump in as the heroes to rescue them. It's classic cult tactics.
During another event, they had the 2 black people in the room stand on one side of the room and the white people on the other side of the room. They then had all the black people scream, "STOP CALLING ME A NI**GER!!!".
This isn't healthy. Especially from untrained facilitators.
They would do the same thing at schools with opening young people up emotionally. They would send workshop facilitators in their 20's to go trigger deep wounds for 7th grade students, and then they would leave the same day and provide litle to no follow up support. The concept of anti bullying workshops is great, but when it's run by two cult leaders who are masters at emotional manipulation, it's super dangerous. There are TONS of amazing school programs out there, and guess what...They don't have a dozen articles online and dozens of former disgruntled emlpoyees. The other anti bullying organization have no controversy. No cult leaders running the show. Just google them and find a better program.
Rich and Yvonne St John Dutra do not deserve your money. Their tactics are dangerous, and this is coming from someone who has seen it firsthand behind the scenes for years.
