Centres For Health & Healing is not What it Seems, SCAM!
Centres for Health and Healing touts itself as one of Ontario’s premier addiction recovery centres. The addiction centre says it takes your life seriously. They claim to provide holistic, personalized programs for clients battling with different forms of addiction.
That could not be further from the truth. The world of addiction treatment is a delicate one. If you want to enjoy the best results, it’s best to get addiction treatment at accredited centres to guarantee safe detox and recovery. Unfortunately, there are fake addiction centres out there parading themselves as the real deal.
Even worse, Centres for Health and Healing is one of such addiction centres. They are not fully accredited and as such, not certified safe by the proper regulatory bodies. What this means is that they can’t provide the safe, holistic services they promise. If you try to enroll for addiction treatment at
Centres for Health and Healing, you’re risking your recovery process and, worse, your life.
Below we take a look at some of its programs and how unreal they are.
Centres for Health and Healing’s Mental Health (CFHH) Treatment is Fake - SCAM!
Mental treatment is a key part of addiction recovery. It’s a sensitive process that involves the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues.
If you want the best results from mental health treatment, you’ll need regular psychological assessments and general healthcare. This level of psychological care can only be provided by expert psychologists with experience.
After going through a period of training and examination, psychologists have to get certified. Centres for Health and Healing is home to psychologists without any form of certification. Every form of mental evaluation you get at the addiction centre can’t be trusted and will hamper your recovery.
Don’t Trust Centres for Health and Healing’s CBT Programs (CFHH) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the most complex parts of treating addiction. It’s also super effective. CBT has applications for treating trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, sleep disorders and other addiction-related issues.
Centres for Health and Healing claims to use CBT alongside different treatment methods to support recovery from addiction. They claim to be able to customize CBT techniques to meet the needs of their patients. But it’s all a false image. Centres for Health and Healing doesn’t have highly trained professionals to provide CBT sessions. Reviews and reports, which we’ll provide later on in this article, show that many patients end up spending thousands on CBT without any positive results.
Individual Therapy Programs at Centres for Health and Healing (CFHH)
Individual therapy is a part of addiction treatment that requires one-on-one sessions with therapists. It’s an essential part of a comprehensive addiction treatment program.
Individual therapy involves sharing intimate details of your life with a therapist. Unfortunately, you can’t do this safely at Centres for Health and Healing because they don’t have confidentiality standards. There are reports of staff casually leaking private information and creating an unsafe environment for therapy.
The Problem with Centres for Health and Healing (CFHH)
From the above, it’s very clear that it’s best to steer clear of Centres for Health and Healing. If that’s not enough, here are some problem areas that make the treatment centre a no-go area:
Multiple Deaths
Inpatient addiction treatment is supposed to be safe, with patients getting round-the-clock treatment and monitoring. However, 24/7 monitoring at Centres for Health and Healing is a joke. The poor monitoring and evaluation at the treatment centre have led to multiple cases of death due to overdose. There are cases of patients using drugs while on admission at the rehab centre.
No Medical Detox - Medical Detox SCAM!
The absence of an unaccredited detox centre in an addiction rehab centre is a red flag. The detox stage is the first and perhaps the most important part of addiction treatment. It’s here that addicts can safely go through withdrawal and flush hard drugs out of the body.
Centres for Health and Healing says that it offers medical detox, but it’s a lie. The rehab centre doesn’t have a medical detox program.
No Zoning
Zoning, certification and accreditation are three essential factors necessary to operate a rehab centre legally. Centres for Health and Healing ticks none of these boxes. They have no zoning and conduct addiction treatment illegally.
Real-Life Reviews about Centres for Health and Healing
Don’t just take our word for it. Below, we’ll paraphrase some of the online reviews from people who have used Centres for Health and Healing.
Poor Management and Deleting Reviews
This particular client complained that Centres for Health and Healing keeps deleting his reviews. According to them, Centres for Health and Healing is trying to get rid of honest reviews.
He paid $30,000 for an addiction treatment program at Centres for Health and Healing, and he didn’t get his money’s worth. The management lied about everything. They only provided one employee to manage over 11 patients. The staff on hand were young and dealing with mental issues of their own. At a point, police had to be called due to the poor management at Centres for Health and Healing.
According to him, “This place is not accredited for a reason!”
The Doctors Are Not Approved
Centres for Health and Healing is not accredited by any regulatory body. Hospitals, clinics and medical rehabs can only provide effective treatment when they have accreditation. According to this customer, it’s impossible to verify the professional standing of their medical professionals. Also, they don’t even have WSIB numbers or a verifiable insurance company. If you pay for a rehab program at Centres for Health and Healing, you’re tossing your money into flames.
Poor Communication
Another review says that no one seems to work at Centres for Health and Healing. They don’t pick up calls and are never available to chat. If you require urgent help, Centres for Health and Healing is not the place to go.
Here’s one straight from the client’s mouth to round up the reviews about Centres for Health and Healing.
“This place is a joke. We were looking for help for my 78-year-old mother-in-law. Everything seemed great during the tour - the staff really know how to sell themselves and this facility.
Upon arrival, things changed. The showers were not working, and the front gate was broken. They don’t offer support. Therapists and counsellors were late to meetings. No one touched base about progress; I could go on.
KEITH & JULIA owe us nearly 2000 dollars for overpaying and are ignoring emails and phone calls. Money is the secondary issue. They didn't care at all about the success and recovery of my mother-in-law. Empty words and broken promises throughout the ENTIRE EXPERIENCE.”
Final Words
No medical detox, accreditation or certified staff to manage addiction treatment cases. Centres for Health and Healing should be a no-go for you. Stay safe!

THEY DELETE THEIR REVIEWS!
First off, it alarming to see that reviews have been deleted. These were peoples honest experiences! If I could give less than one star I would.
My best friend went there, for $30,000! First off Keith lied about EVERYTHING on the tour. Medication was not properly managed. There was one staff on for more than 11 "patients". Police had to be called on numerous occasions. Literally nothing was organized. The staff were very young and dealing with mental health issues of their own. These reviews need to be read ! These place is not accredited for a reason!

No one seems to work there they don't pick up the phone or there chat online nothing I think if someone was in need they wouldn't be the ones to call or count on
3. Laurie Ann:
Not accredited.
Don’t go to a centre that is not accredited.
If you don’t know what this means - do your due diligence. Hospitals, clinics and other rehabs are accredited. Check each person who works there and verify their professional standing with the appropriate college. Find out who their medical doctor is as well and if they come on site. Ask what insurance company or wsib number is - if they don’t have them they are are not approved. Don’t give anyone any money until you ask these important questions.

This place is a joke...
We were looking for help for my 78 year old mother-in-law.

Upon arrival... showers were broken, front gate is broken, NO support. Therapist and councillors were late to meetings. No one touched base about progress, I could go on...
45 days minimum turned into week by week .. It was an absolute money grab making us pay week by week without seeing an invoice.
KEITH & JULIA owe us nearly 2000 dollars for over paying and are ignoring emails and phone calls. Money being the secondary issue.... they didn't care at all about the success and recovery of my mother-in-law.
Empty words and broken promises throughout the ENTIRE EXPERIENCE.
Wouldn't send my worst enemy here in hopes of recovering.
BEWARE to all people who are genuinely looking for real help.
This is not the place.

First of all the councilors seem to have little experience and seem to come in to Group sessions unprepared and many times late. The sessions consisted of a handout and them reading word for word then asking for questions. They had limited knowledge to actually elaborate on the topics and make the session more interactive and keep it interesting. That's probably why most clients were missing and or tuned out. This tells me they were disorganized and little experience. I am currently at CHRC Peterborough with 6 Professional Psychotherapists with much more knowledge and experience. Management regularly violated Smoking By-laws and allowed Clients to do so as well even after I complained about it they abided by By-law for a few days then broke it. Very Irresponsible for Health and Wellness Institute. Kitchen area often dirty where clients were allowed to come in and out of possibly contaminating Chefs work area. I found flies on the food several times. I think Health Department would have something to say about that. I took it upon myself to keep the kitchen area and spray and decontaminate the area every single day for the 30 days there. They allowed one client to come and go every day and sometimes they would give him a mask but did not force him to keep it on . Again Irresponsible. They were unable to keep control of disruptive clients and police called several times. Plus they lied to me to get me there. They promised me one thing to get me there then changed their mind once I paid. Even the maintenance man was allowed to spend more time chasing and going for walks with one of the female guests than maintaining the building.
Overall this place is Disorganized and Unprofessional. NOT worth the money.

If you care about your loved ones do not send them to this facility! First this place infested with cockroaches. You can see dozens to hundreds of them during the daytime you can find them in every portion of the house including the bedrooms. They're not accredited by the ministry and haven't been inspected by the ministry. The staff do not adhere to covid protocol. They should all be wearing masks in the house and around any clients. The clients are tested for covid and spend more than two weeks there so everyone knows they don't have it but the staff come in and out of the facility go to their family go to whatever functions and mingle with each other which is a very high risk of spreading covid. This place in no way is luxury. 99% of the amenities they claim to have they don't have Yes the property's beautiful and yes there's a couple of animals but they don't have anything else they claim to have. They claim to have a pool and yes there's a pool on the property but it's not open or usable because they wini take care of it and they don't want to pay the insurance of having it open. They claim to have a gym which they do not have, they have a handful of weights and an exercise ball. They claim to have a chef and a cleaner, it's not a chef it's a cook at best and there are no cleaning staff at all. The clients are expected to do all of the cleaning for the entire facility themselves. They say that the chef will take care of all meals except for weekend breakfasts the clients are expected to take care of their breakfast every morning one day a week they are expected to take care of all of their meals also on the weekend they are expected to take care of all of their meals. The majority of the food is no name brand, the majority of the meat is last day for sale and there is no structure or meal plan. It is not designed by a dietitian it's just left up to the whim of the cook. They charge different clients different prices even though they are not getting different treatment and they're there for the same amount of time. When you tell them you can't pay everything up front that they might have to take a couple of payments they refuse that and they suggest you use a credit agency. I don't think it's coincidental that Ken and the manager own a portion of that credit agency and charge you more than 40% interest. I also don't think it's coincidental that Ken gets a portion of money every single time he brings a client into the program. They are clearly more focused on money than they are focused on client care. They all drive very expensive brand new cars several of them have multiple cars including Ken.
It's been said that several times clients have used illicit drugs on the property and they were stolen from the staff area or brought into them and passed to them over the fence. They've had people with significant medical conditions and significant mental health conditions in the rehab facility as well. These people need to be in facilities that cater to their needs. This facility has no medical attention whatsoever and definitely cannot deal with severe mental health issues either. They claim to have medical supervision and a doctor they sometimes have a practical nurse on 24 hours a day. Many times they don't and they have a regular staff member working at night that can't deal with any medical emergencies and can't deal with any mental health issues the best they could do is call 911. Detoxing can be life threatening and needs 24 hour supervision. Yes they have a doctor by which they mean they'll bring you to the walk-in clinic if you have an issue and yes they have access to a psychiatrist which yes they'll bring you once you pay a $3,000 fee. $3,000 fee for a psychiatrist that takes ohip.Te staff seem to be nice people unfortunately there are not enough of them to run the program efficiently. The manager is in her late 20's she may some wxperience but not enough to run thisfacility. I regret sending my son here.
Please take your loved one somewhere else where they get the care they need and deserve.
