I was attempting to sell a time share. I got a message from these folks. When I called them back I asked how they got my number and they said that I had either spoken with the outfit owning the time share or I spoke with someone about an ad. Both were true. They said they had a buyer and I was so excited I believed it. They even faxed me an "Offer Acceptance Agreement". It contained the person's name and how much she was offering. I signed it that I accepted.
I was told I needed to supply $2250, title and fees, which would be refunded upon closing or cancellation. I said that I couldn't come up with that amount of money and they were willing to accept $1575. They supplied me with their bank address, routing # and account # and I did a wire transfer. It went to BB&T Bank in Orlando, FL. The acct # was and the routing # was . About 10 days later, Mr. Rosen called and explained that a "luxury tax" needed to be paid "because the government needs to get their hands into everything". This time I was given a new bank, Regions in Orlando, account # , routing .
I was then sent a "Funds Disbursement Authorization Form" asking where I wanted the funds to go to once the closing was complete. The total even showed the sale amount + the title and fees I was to be reimbursed. I also got an e-mail congratulting me on the sale and adving it would take 7-14 days for the funds to be transferred. Nothing happened.
I've been e-mailing and leaving voice mails ever since with no response at all. Looks like I need to get an attorney involved now!
