Cedar Park Northwest Austin Auto Repair Shop Reviews
After several years of faithful patronage, and after several thousands of dollars spent, ER Automotive finally showed their true colors. Along with all the thousands of dollars spent, he did a few cheap little jobs for free, building our trust, then worked up to the final transaction.
When my Honda transmission went out, he referred me to his buddy down the street, Eagle Transmission, who did thousands of dollars of work to rebuild a transmission. Within days there were problems...Ken at Eagle would not even run a diagnostic to find the problem but referred me back to ER Automotive.
Erik, at ER, happened to have a slightly newer car he was supposedly selling for a regular customer...he convinced my mom that we should purchase it, which we did....we traded my awesome, unique, 99 Honda with a re-buit transmission, for an '02 Toyota because Erik told me it was a great little car, "ready to drive across country"! The first time I tried to visit my grandchild, I was stranded in South Austin. From the first week it had trouble...and several more over the next 3 months. He DID offer to trade back for my Honda, but told me the Toyota was a better car and I TRUSTED him. I was also very busy struggling with personal Life events ALONE, which he knew about. I had to bring this car back in at LEAST 5 more times in 3 months...each time with Erik becoming less and less friendly.
Our last visit, in person, I told him I was concerned that I would lose money trying to sell it...he disagreed and when I asked if he would sell it for me...he AGREED.
Less than a month later...MORE problems. At this point, he denied saying he would sell the car for me, then proceeded to make fun of me and make a very sarcastic and hurtful comment about how i deserve a brand new car. It was degrading and very disappointing...especially after I had given him so many chances to make this right...and chose not to go to social media.
After our phone exchange today, I have had enough. It was extremely unprofessional to break his word, and to make fun of a customer who was clearly upset and worried about how to get to school and take care of responsibilities, and who also has multiple disabilities, of which he is aware.
Now I am stuck with a vehicle that is very unreliable, unsafe to carry my grandchild in, unreliable to drive to school, and an absolute loss of money. And, I have absolutely lost faith in ER Automotive and Erik as a kind human being, after a several year business relationship.
This has been a very frustrating process and it's time to warn as many peope as possible: there are things he has definitely done right over the several years as he has taken our money...but do NOT purchase a used car from him...get ANY promise from him IN WRITING...and think about where your money goes in this economy...does a dishonest person deserve your business?
