I reach out to the seller and they dismissed dna as fact and said "The pure breed of the kitten is checked not by DNA but by checking the pedigree and by experts on cats show"??
I bought a scottish straight short hair kitten from Mr. Karimov back in October 2020. Mr. Karimov would send me videos of the kitten every so often leading up to when she was shipped to me at the end of December. The kitten was delivered to me on December 23, 2020 and at first she seemed okay. I did everything Mr. Karimov had suggested in the contract he had me sign before she was delivered to my house as having her quarantined away from my other dogs and just let her get used to her new surroundings.
I took her into her vet appointment for her to get checked out and she got some shots while she was there and overall my vet said she seemed okay except she was really small for her age and they said she had a minor case of conjunctivitis (pink eye) which the vet prescribed her Tobramycin for her. I gave it to her and at first I thought she was getting better but eventually over time her energy seemed zapped and she would rarely get up out of her bed I had in her area for her. I just thought she might just be a little sad or something because she still had to be quarantined because I didn't want her to give the pink eye to my other dogs.
Anyway, fast forward to the early morning of Februray 13, 2021 I went into see her to check on her and play with her when I found her in the front of her litter box crying in what seemed like to be in pain. I read up on trying to warm her up with rice and wrapping her in a blanket and was pressing her close to my body in hoping all she needed was some warmth. I was talking to a vet on my petcube about the situation and I explained to her it looked like my kitten hadn't eaten anything that day or even drank any of the water laid out for her. The vet told me I should monitor her for the next 24 hours as the lack of water could lead to issues.
It was at that point I decided to pack her up and drive her to the emergency vet in the middle of the night to have them look at her while I was praying for some good news. The Vet there however gave me grim details about how her temperature wasn't even registering and that even though she was pretty thin her belly was quite protrusive which made them think there was some fluid going on there. The doctor went on to extract a sample from her abdomen which I ended up seeing later which was a thick yellow fluid that was high in protein which the doctor went on to tell me my kitten had Feline Infectious Peritonitis which has a 100% mortality rate. I had asked her how the kitten could have gotten this disease and she went on to tell me it must have come from the cattery she came from since I don't have any cats in my household.
She told me there was nothing I did here as this disease was just a walking time bomb and it wasn't if it went off but when. She went on to explain they could hook her up to give her fluids but I would be delaying the inevitable. My kitten in her state which was critical wasn't going to make it through this so she recommended we euthanize her and just let her go peacefully and not let her suffer so even though I wanted to do the opposite I made the tough decision in letting my 5 month old kitten go. I sat by her in a tent while they let her go and pet her to let her know her daddy was there to be with her during the last moments of her life.
I contacted Mr. Karimov the next day to let him know what had happened and he seemed cold and didn't care about the kitten and how she passed. He just blurted out he wanted to see test results in an email. I sent him the vet notes from her last moments on Earth in which he went on to tell me he needed the medical records of her with her "real name" on them. I then went on to call the emergency vet to ask them if they would be able to alter the record to put the name he had sold me her as "Ubi" in which they told me since it was a medical record they couldn't do that. I went on to explain that to Mr. Karimov who then went on to tell me there was nothing he could do then because he wouldn't be able to prove it was actually Ubi who had passed. Basically accusing me of falsifying my cat's death to get him to give me a refund.
I was flabergasted he could do such a thing but after reading another person's experience with him on here I can understand better. I called my regular vet to get her medical records from them and have them add Ubi to the name on her records and even on there it says the emergency vet had contacted them on the 13th about the passing of my kitten. I proceeded to send them to Mr. Karimov who then told me he was forwarding them to his breeder immediately. That was almost a week ago and I still have not heard back a word from them. The kitten was born with a disease that can't be discovered by a checkup. Only time you can figure it out is basically when it's too late.
I had the kitten for less than 2 months which puts me within the 180 day health guarantee. The kitten cost me $1750 ($1400 for her and $350 to ship her) and her medical bills came out to be around $600 to $700 during that time. She was my Christmas present to myself and quite frankly I'd rather have her back but since I can't I'd like to be able to get a refund for my pain and suffering I had to go through. Do the right thing Mr. Karimov and please refund me my money.
