Purchased a rent/lease to own storage building thru local company. After singing electronically without being able to view contract I received copy of contract 6 days later.
Was told I would be able to make payments online - they did not mention the additional $10 convenience fee. I opted to have the payment deducted from my bank account. I mailed the first payment priority mail with tracking (so it would be on time) and they attemped to charge a late fee. It was removed after I provided tracking information. They claimed to have not received the banking information that I was told to mail to PO Box 51334, Lafayette, LA only to be told later it should have been sent to Halls, TN for auto draft so another check was mailed the following month priority mail. They supposedly "found" the information, returned the check instead of applying it to the payment because they claimed the auto draft could not be reversed for that month and I had to leave work early to put money in the account.
I had a stroke 01/31/2017. It has affected me tremendously. In May 2017 my wife simply forgot to put the payment in my account by the 15th. On May 17th I called and got very upset with representative Missy Millner. My wife called her later in the day and was told that if a payment was made online that day by 2 pm the $25 Returned ACH fee would be removed from my account and the payment would not be considered late. No where in the contract is there anything abount a $25 Returned ACH fee. An internet payment of $147.00 (137 payment and 10 convenience fee) was made 05/17/2017 12:41:51 PM (CT).
Later that month when I received my statement, the Returned ACH fee had not been removed and $112.00 had been applied to the payment and $25 was applied to the Returned ACH fee. No late fee was applied on the May statement. Because only $112 was applied to the payment, the June 2017 statement shows a balance of $24.22 and a $15 late fee was applied. The July 2017 statement also has a $15 late fee.
I feel this company has illegally charged the Returned ACH fee and the reoccuring monthly $15 late fee is proof of unfair accounting practices. I have repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor and even Mr Hammond only to be told no.
Mr Hammond has many LLCs that span across several states and could very possibly have interstate commerce issues. All companies need to be fully investigated and audited.
This company can not keep nothing right they lie cheat steal. I bought 2 building from this company and the second time around I caught on to their scam. I kept noticing my pay off would keep going up instead of down. I called them asked them why my pay off was going up instead of down. They we're adding fees that they called rental fees. Ok so I wanted to pay for early. I did but I took the hit of the rental fees begin added on to the pay off. My payment monthly was 88.71. Here is the break down the company gave me. 88.71 - 35.48 for rental fees and the remaining 53.00 and some change was added to the principal. Ok fine but when my statement come for my next payment they added the 35.48 right back to my pay off making my payoff go up. And it was 88.71 for 3 years if I paid to term. I opted to pay off earlier and still too the hit of the 35.48 times very how many months was left .
This company ripped me out of over 5,000 dollars for 2 building same price for each unit different sizes but they are cream with green roofs same 88.61 payment for both just different sizes. Then when I made my last payment the pay off I was 2 cents short. Because I was told 174.86 was the payoff. I sent them 174.86 and was called and told my payoff was 174.88. I said so you going to repo. She said no but you are short 2 cents. Really 2 cents and you are fussing. Mind you I sent in 1,000 back in April and I never made another payment till they called me and said your rental fees are adding up. I was paid ahead for well over a year. Shot right back up to 600 cause of rental fees. This company will rip you off. Didn't get my deposit back and that is ok. Haven't gotten my payoff letter either. Shame shame that they would rip people off. So folks I'm only going say this once if you are a customer or thinking about becoming one don't. If you are a customer as of now. Watch your payoff. Keep your statements and compare from month to month. They add 35.48 to the customers of 88.71 I'm not sure for others. But just watch your payoff it will go up each month and if you try to pay that months payment plus the rental fee for the next month they add it to the pay off anyway. This company needs shut down and they need to pay people back what they took.
Doesn't matter when you pay your bill that are constantly charging a late fee. I mailed my last payment in on Aug 9th and they didn't cash it until the 16th convienently adding a $15 late fee. It's crazy enough how they charge a $10 service fee if you pay online. How is that convienent for me for you to charge me more than the monthly payment I'm already making to you. It's quite obvious they are simply in it for the money and they're seem to doing it to everyone else too!
This company has drove us completely nuts with late fees and we pay our bill every month i have every receipt from the moment it was brought here. They call me everyday and i do mean everyday they have charged us so much that the balance hasn't even moved showing were getting it paid off. I want the building gone but it belongs to my husband and he is 68 and doesn't realize these people are straight ripping him off and the crazy part about it is we were interested in buying a carport or garage after paying this small shed off but i'll be damn i'll build it cheaper than the crooks i'm dealing with now. I send a payment in and they still call every day and the woman calling is very rude towards me because he isn't here to speak with her. I would advise against ever buying anything from them again and will make it a goal to turn people in the right direction
I called 4 months ago to see the pay off and was told it was 350 so we paid $200 1Mar, 1 April..On June 1, we received a bill for $475 with a late fee. I tried numerous times to talk to someone but because of COVID they were understaffed and told to call back. I have yet to reach anyone.
I notice for months that something was very wrong . I paid months ahead of my monthly payments amount but the balance would never stay below $1000. I called about it after it became so obvious that the correct amounts was not being deducted; however, they could not break down what fees they were charging me for. I called and three people hung up the phone on me because they could not explain the incorrect balance. My balance should be $626.00 But it continues to get back up to over $ 1079. 00.
I am trying find out if this company is being investigated yet.

I purchased a building from a local dealer 90 days same as cash. Never once received a statement or account number. Finally went on line and setup a pay on line account and found my name with the account #1234 and a balance of 3,590.00 in addition to the $198.00 fee I paid the dealer. Within a couple of weeks of my 90 days and not receiving any documentation I tried paying the shed off on line only to have my payment rejected. I called the phone number and was put on hold because the recording stated due to Covid 19 the office had minimal personnel available to answer calls. I went to my dealer the next day where I had purchased the shed and tried to pay him. He couldn't accept payment and said he would call the district manager to try and get a different phone number for me to call. Got the different number but the recording again said minimal staffing due to Covid 19. Finally go a call back days later and had the lady call my wife for payment via debit card. My wife tried returning the call and waited over 20 minutes. My wife continued calling to pay off the account and finally when we couldn't reach anyone we mailed a check with the account number 1234 which I retrieved off line with the on line pay off amount of $3,590.00. The Check was returned to us and said an invalid account number. We finally received a statement dated 25 June several days after this datewith a valid account number and resent a check to pay off the amount owed. They now want almost one thousand dollars additional in fees saying we sent the wrong pay off amount They are trying to charge us monthly lease fees on top of that. I am going to the Better Business Bureau for the area of the dealer as well as contacting the dealer himself. I am writing the NC Attorney General and turning the matter over to a lawyer.
I have filed a report with the better BBB. I hope it works because nothing else has. I just all the reviews which I didnt find before I bought from them. Do not buy from these people. They have a scam running with late fees, convenience fees, bogus accounts, due dates and hidden charges. You will get charged a late fee when you dont owe a whole payment and the pay off never goes down. I tell everyone I know not to buy from Hickory. Buy from Graceland, good legit company, honest people.
I mailed my check last month on the 14th (Iknow I was pushing it) but I was under the assumption that I have a 5 day grace period. I received a phone call on the 21st, saying the payment wasn't received yet. I called and talked to some rude snobby B&*ch. Well I was charged the 15$ fee, ok so I will make sure this months payment is on time, and see whats happening. If it happens again I will give the damn thing back to them.
Carolina Lease Management, LLC. deserves "0" stars. Their customer services completely sucks. I always made my payments early AND paid way more than my normal scheduled payment. I sent a payment priority mail to them on Feb. 11, 2019 in which the payment was received by them on Feb. 13, 2019 (I had confirmation the payment was received for processing) and they held this money (check) and would not apply the funds until Feb. 20, 2019. What kind of crap is this?? This is how they try to say payments are "late" because they do NOT process them when received. I went through 6 different crappy representatives who acted like it was a crime to be at work and did not want to assist me. I ended up paying my account off today, thank God. Now I do not have to deal with this company's bullshit any more. My suggestion to anyone dealing with a company that finances with Carolina Lease Management, get your purchase financed with a different finance company. These people should be out of business for their POOR, UNPROFESSIONAL work ethics. A true scam company indeed.
First off let’s begin with the fact I’ve bought a total of three building with them and i noticed i started not getting a bill every month it they said it was sent must of gotten lost or something in mail . Well just today i find out that on top of financing charges and regular payment they charge you 100 extra a month for RENTAL FEE number one that was never discussed when bought from the dealer and number two it’s not even listed on the bill so if they were not trying to screw you why would they hide it?? Do you realize how much more on these buildings I’m paying just because their thievery.. number two i spoke with a lady about my buildings two months prior and asked her what my payoff was since my statement wasn’t never received and on one she told me 1k and some change and i said great i plan on paying that off next time round, long story short i had unexpected bills so couldn’t pay it off fast forward to today my statement for that bill says 1700 how the heck did it jump back to 1700 after i know what she told me the pay off was i will never purchase here again

Same here, I got my Feb. Statement 1862.56 payoff. I paid a 200.00 payment, cleared my bank on feb.12, before the
Feb.15 statement. That left a 1662.56 payoff. I decided to go ahead an pay it off,so I sent a check for 1662.56 off on
Feb. 26. A few days later, I get a statement with a payoff of 1762.56. I called an asked how could the payoff go up 100.00
If there is no interest or fees. She claimed that at the end of the billing cycle,Feb. 25, they bill the rental fee. I told them that
The contract was for X amount, and I was not paying a 100.00 more. My check said payed in full, and 2 weeks later,they

Unless you are paying this off in the first 90 days,. You will be paying on it FOREVER!
$10.00 extra just for making the payment. $15.00 for late fees (cause your payment is always late)
