I hired Carolina Crawlspace Pros to encapsulate my crawlspace. They asked for a 50% deposit and I agreed, but only after they promised to begin work on certain date. I recieved a call from someone named Nicky from their office confirming my appointment. On the date of the appointment, I waited 2 hours and they no showed. I called the salesman "Bryan" and he wouldnt answer the phone. He texted me instead telling me they could not show up because the owner of the company had decided to do a 5 hour training program instead. No calls, I just wasted hours waiting on them. Bryan texted me, "It's not uncommon for people to show up late in the construction business." I told him the company should put that on their business cards.
The next day, their "day labor" showed up in a beat up truck and began the work. While they were at my home they ate lunch under a tree in our back yard and threw the chicken bones and trash in my grass where my daughter's pet picked them up.
On Friday afternoon Bryan showed up at my house to check the work. Bryan went under my house and then met me on the porch. He told me, "Because of the mess they caused under my house, this would be this crews last job for the company." Bryan then told me that he would be back over the weekend to reinspect the work. Once again, he never showed. In fact, he has never been back to my house.
Because of Bryan's comments, I decided to withhold payment of the balance due until I had a independent contractor verify the work had been completed. I had another company come out two days later who told me the work wasn't up to their standards, but it was okay and mailed the full balance due. I texted Bryan the same day and told him that I had mailed the payment.
Four days after the Carolina Crawlspace Pros cashed my check, I received a nasty collection letter from an attorney threatening to sue me for the balance due. I texted Bryan a picture of the letter to which he replied, "Yeah that was mailed out after we were told you needed some other professional company to check behind our work."
I would highly recommend using some other company for this service. These people were rude, nonprofessional and treat people with total disprespect.
