Carmel Motors Bait and Switch: I am in California and found these guys online. My Salesperson was Jordan. They Took my deposit $1,000 deposit to finance a car through my bank who I am pre-approved by - They said "great we work with Chase Bank".
Once they had my money they suddenly told me they dont work with my bank who pre-approved me at 4.86%. Then tried to switch me into a loan that was almost 40% higher (Bank American at 8.5%) CRAZY! I asked for my deposit back because I was lied to and one of the managers named Ray told me flat out they are not going to give me a penny back.
The finance manager, Ariel is never available and his voice mail is alwasy full. RED FLAG! I also filed a complaint with the State of Indiana and also now noticed lots of terrible reviews on the BBB. I should have checked more throughly! BE CAREFUL, I WOULD AVOID THEM!
I went to purchase a car I could afford and enjoy when I saw the MB SLK280 hardtop convertible. I took a ride with the salesman. I loved the ride. I loved the style. It had been well kept inside and out, no scratches or dents that I saw.
He said there were seven previous owners. It was a 2006 model. He said there was no accident reports. I traded it in with my Mustang.
I drove it for a one month. Once or twice I backed out from a curb & noticed it was low to the ground and that I would have to be careful because it bumped against the curb. When I looked for any damage from that high curb, I could see the dealers had hid some previous damage. Also a local Dealer/repair shop owner could see the damage that they painted over and tried to cover up when I brought it into him for a look. I still have a part waiting from them that they promised to order for me at the date of purchase (Chip, salesman)
